We believe that these documents are very important to finding out what happened in the murder of of Border Patrol agent.
Hit Terry why that -- were sold illegally in the first place who made the decision at the highest level of government.
And so basically we're trying to uncover.
What appears to be a cover up.
Or stonewalling.
That was senator Chuck Grassley.
From the great state of Iowa this morning.
On America's Newsroom with our house Martha MacCallum Bill Hemmer and this is power play welcome back and the issue.
President invoking executive privilege.
As it relates to the fast and furious gun running scandal that -- arrive.
Is heating up the town I told -- we were gonna talk about levels -- just.
-- -- You wanna talk about so much but because we have somebody's Smart who can talk about that and please welcome back Melanie yourself.
She is the national Press Secretary for the Democratic National Committee that's the blue team actually -- is with us still all right Melanie.
The position from the White House today.
Is basically look.
This is not some admission of guilt this is not some this is not some burning scandal this is so that the president can be frankly advised by his advisors.
And if they are afraid that everything they ever tell -- it's gonna gets worked out all over the place they won't be able to talk frankly to -- but that you heard Chuck Grassley there he is -- man.
-- as a hornet's nest and he's gonna keep coming.
Well Chris thank you so much for having me -- I love coming on the show today as you know.
You here and you'll hear from the justice did the Justice Department.
And the white house on this it's not something I am familiar with.
I have learned everything I know about it the same way you NASA news reports -- you were not involved.
-- -- a ball right -- weird this is okay that group of exactly this is not this is not a campaign issue and so I'm gonna.
Just -- -- you -- was so you can you agree then with what Margie Romero who was on here before you said which is this doesn't penetrate as a campaign this is not a topic that the campaign's gonna send.
No.
It's not something we're talking about -- dealing with got it okay and mr.
Kirk as is I believe so that when I reverence for the damage your comment.
Let's talk about what we -- gonna talk about originally which has.
President talking about the state of the economy.
And making a very obvious statement when he was down in Mexico are down in Mexico yesterday.
-- -- what's going on in Europe now and what's going on with the global economic situation there -- what well it may may affect the election he said the question is.
Can the president.
And let's go that you naturally can the president effectively manage expectations that test for the president now on the economy has a lot to do with expectations management.
And saying I know it's not what you want it.
But it's getting better and it could be worse.
Yeah I mean obviously that's what he's been trying to do all along but the problem is it that it this is do the business of he's just been so much time.
Blaming all of the current problems on.
On his predecessor to the point -- even when when president former president George W.
Bush came in for these.
Hanging on the -- the entire bush family sitting right there he didn't.
Talked about how he inherited this whole mess and it really -- I think that at some point it becomes somewhat of a parity.
And and when he does this business about now talking about Europe which actually you know made it didn't maybe there's some that you are -- there.
But it it but he's sort of he's like -- boy who cried cried wolf at some point you run out.
No credibility -- -- -- -- most -- he's played every wolf that it's possibly out there.
How about that Melanie this question the president is trying to say Mitt Romney -- they've -- -- the wrong direction.
But he has stood in the way tacitly recognize that you know we -- a thirty for a 30% right track number right now.
Well listen I I think.
Every American who was.
Watching their televisions.
In late 2008 early 2009.
Fully recognizes that where we weren't when this president walked into office.
Bleeding 700000.
Jobs a month.
We've come quite a long way from that point.
The economy has created four point three million jobs we've had 27 consecutive months of job growth.
So there is.
Some acknowledgment even in the American public that we've come a long way from where we are and the president has always said we have a long way to go.
The choice the American people have in this is what he spoke to last week is between his vision for America.
To move America forward by investing in education.
In -- key infrastructure.
Innovation and reforming the tax system.
And Mitt Romney -- Vision for America which would take us back to the same failed economic policies of the past and there was a story in the post today.
By Lori Montgomery about.
Recent analysis of the house Republican tax plan which Mitt Romney is fully signed on to.
Which would.
Drastically cut taxes for the wealthy.
And leave the majority of the tax burden on middle class families that's not the direction that middle class Americans want to go and that's.
It was just -- -- very tiring quickly they carry a little paste this in any new ad from the Obama campaign that's been well.
I'm Barack Obama and I approved this message running for governor.
Mitt Romney campaign doesn't job creator I know how jobs are created -- -- -- corporate greater shift jobs to China who.
And Macs -- more as governor he did the same thing.
Charlie that you noticed a small droplets of blood that were on -- -- he's basically.
He's getting obviously on the lifeblood of the workers.
They just send only wanted to give her explanation for the economy does it because it is very it's a lot it's a lot more effective -- the -- this.
Ridiculous I have.
But the one problem though is that that it doesn't get addressed here is the fact that we've run out of money.
We're still spending a lot of money massive amounts of money.
And you know we are getting ourselves into it you know a jam.
That it's just unimaginable how we'll ever get I -- I suppose eventually if the economy gets better and you start making money in.
You know and everywhere within health care thing is that this didn't come to a new ad didn't do that obamas bring -- about the health care about how happy this this college student is that.
She's gonna still be on her -- either her parents health insurance plan.
Well you know another way issued beyond that her on our health insurance plan.
If she had a job okay all right now we go to your disapproval we have to go thank you thank you so much ahead of the Internet is very fond -- --
