What's very difficult I I would say my first reaction -- was is that just a few weeks.
I mean it seems like you know this -- been going -- for fifteen months my hope is is that they've been there for a long time I mean one of the challenges that is is gaining intelligence and five figure out who the opposition really is.
Are -- other bad -- Actors among these groups there's they're saying there's more than a hundred militia so I think it's really important that we have people on the ground in the region not necessarily in Syria.

Possibly the other reports -- -- is that that groups like Syria's Muslim Brotherhood.
We have groups out of Saudi Arabia.
Out of Turkey as well which we just mentioned that are funneling money and weapons into the opposition.
And Peter I know these reports had to deal with intelligence and intelligence gathering and doing some research for some of these other people that are funneling money.
-- -- Out in front though if we really want to overthrow the regime.
Should we be the -- taking control here and providing money and providing weapons and that's what it's gonna take.
Well I mean I'm I'm not disappointed that it's in the paper frankly because I just think this is very very sensitive.
Operations that are going on it puts our folks -- in harm's way that it's out in the news.
-- -- you know I think we need to try to shape the environment if we're really serious about getting rid of this regime we need to be able to understand who we're dealing with this is critically important.
Forest -- to understand that.
Then we should understand we should make decisions about what we want to funnel them whether it's information.
Whether it's intelligence and are these people we can deal with and then of course down the road whether we would want to fight give them weapons now some members of congress are calling for that some -- calling for a no fly zone there's a lot of things at stake here but that it all starts with understanding the situation on the ground.
In Syria and I'm not sure that we really have a firm grasp of that at this.
That's what kind of question is seems that there is a proxy war going on -- Saudi Arabia and Bob you have -- got involved -- -- side -- -- -- -- Hillary Clinton saying listen -- -- -- time.
To engage Russia economically because -- the benefit us as a country but.
-- is supporting the guys that we don't like so what do you think about that and general Peter is it is it wise to engage your country.
On the economy with the hope to set maybe they'll come -- to your site and other issues.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- You know the business situation so that it protects an advance American interest and that's not easy and some in some cases we have a -- -- amount of tools to do that -- you're right.
The relationship is tough.
And it it doesn't look to be getting better in the future with with Moscow timing is everything as -- -- -- Peter we're going to be talking more about this I'm -- thank you so much.
