Meanwhile is the united states air force -- religious freedoms among the ranks.
A series of recent incidents have come to the attention of 66 US congressman and just yesterday the lawmakers jointly fired off a letter to Defense Secretary Leon Panetta looking for answers.
Virginia congressman Randy Forbes is the co chair of the congressional prayer caucus is among those who signed the letter -- -- -- New York warranties and -- today.
What is the air force doing that you've had a number of constituents contact you.
And complain about.
Stated so egregious where they're going now as you know the navy not too long ago actually banned bubbles from being brought in hospitals even if as a minister bringing in there.
The air force is coming -- ruled that the word god can't be used in the air force even if it doesn't have a religious context.
They have said that there officers can inform their people that are serving -- them programs that the chaplains might have.
Even if they're approved programs that won't let -- inform them up and they have found indicated that McCain had any ethics programs that banned the ethics Ferguson have in -- reference to religion in there.
They stopped their cadets from trying to encourage people to contribute to programs that are helping children just because they have a faith component but the big -- Steve is having a chilling effect all across the air force.
Because you know these -- people there fighting for our rights every day here we need to be standing up for their religious freedoms and liberty.
Congressman you know whether -- it.
However they don't want to offend anybody it's the PC police are cracking down now on the military -- -- they're doing that but they're sending a lot of people without -- 2000 chaplains and alliance that are supporting what we're doing just to start getting some answers and -- When enough is enough and we need to make sure we're guaranteeing these religious freedoms.
From people are fighting to defend us OK Steve contacted Leon Panetta you've written that you and 65 other congressman have written a letter saying come on to give us some answers.
We expect -- -- important thing is it's not just 66 members of congress that six out of seven subcommittee chairman of the armed forces committee that normally gets his attention we think you'll love respond to that and we just want to make sure.
We get a little more balance brought into this whole situation but what about the suggestion that.
You don't want to offend some people who might not.
You know might not read the -- -- right -- when we wrote you know the bill writes we didn't say that that you couldn't do things that Chad writes if it offended people for what we say it is that you had the right to do that that's what we wanna protect their rights to be would have religious freedom -- religious liberty.
Out of curiosity what your message to members of the armed forces who -- watcher right now.
I take up this fight I would say to hold on that they're people that believe the -- that we're gonna stand up and fight for you we know you're fighting for us.
And we have to get this up pushed back because.
You know the military is had a huge component of people that very strong in effect that leads -- the do what they're doing.
We -- -- make sure they continue at least have the right to do that absolutely after all what's that expression -- never an atheist in a foxhole it we've heard that expression a lot we travel around the world -- and people are very very strong -- up.
They've they should have a right to either support their faith or not but it ought to be their decision not to some general sitting at the Pentagon -- congressman Randy Forbes from Virginia sir thank you very much thank you see -- -- here in New York.
