Welcome back our panel discussing the Michael -- of the of -- lined case.
Doctor Michael Baden forensic pathologist attorneys Joey Jackson and -- and walled and retired lieutenant detective Steve Rogers our guys.
You saw on the video it's that cold blooded murder it -- so it seems they didn't steal anything why -- they do.
It's turns my stomach judge this is an absolute outrage this is a seventeen year old child was involved in multiple sports and everything he didn't deserve to -- like this and certainly someone needs to be no one does what -- makes some video out there there could be another theory here outside the box one -- looks like a crime of opportunity but the question I have was -- a possible gang initiation and I believe the police.
May be looking into that because when you see that second figure that second individual walk by.
One's got to wonder interest in playing very interest and go -- bill well it could also.
Avaya that he ran into these people before the shooting and they basically followed -- there may be go through an argument with them maybe they just ruins.
An opportunity to revenge you don't know.
But you know we don't know anything that to be the case he has eleven miles from home.
He's it's a classic case of a kid an underage drinking and -- to talk.
You're aware that he first realized he was too drunk to drive.
So why didn't stop there everything.
Let's see this was so tired you stop -- the people that the story was too drunk to drive when the first I'd like you moves through I have to believe he was being responsible and figure look we all drive it and at moments we get tired he pulled over attempted to be responsible and unfortunately fell asleep in the wrong place and as a result he lost his life.
Doctor -- what will be autopsy -- have to show a lot -- although the crime scene in the car we'll show a lot because often these cases.
The perpetrated -- his fingers on the door on the on the -- But when I -- Really -- didn't -- put his hands on the door.
Yes I think so and I think that often these kind of cases there's there's Trace evidence that especially fingerprints very easily found.
There's also in the autopsy itself of course the ballistics will get the -- -- they've been involved and other -- criminal activity.
What was alcohol blood alcohol level that we have any drugs are going to be very important in evaluating if indeed he had been drinking it was the issue.
Yeah it's -- before he -- -- a different -- didn't do much I pulled over because there was some talk earlier but still they have to prove it's true people sometimes.
-- aren't accurate and what they say so that the the -- definitely be toxicology done.
To evaluate what was in his left if -- had in many he had been stopped a couple weeks earlier given us some transfers smoking marijuana in his car sent them.
Scott to do with that I have -- you want is a victim there's two issues here -- Relatives who did it issue number -- was -- I mean it -- an easier question is going to be who did it because you've got all that a forensic evidence but as to why it was done that's something you may never know.
Which goes back to that theory of a possible gang initiation and I say that your honor because I understand that areas a lot of gunfire and.
Well clearly what we've got in this area is that this is a a bad area of town no doubt about it and it's his misfortune.
But the video shows that he had pulled into that area like a minute -- -- -- wasn't any other contact with anyone.
Which means they could have been waiting for anyone you're going there that's -- these -- -- operate the way for a crime of opportunity and if you're unlucky day -- -- unfortunately -- it at 4 in the morning though -- that too many people gonna stop there.
And part of it would be they have a good chance a very good chance of finding the that video they have.
Other crime in that area when they get the person involved in -- have a much better chance of finding out why it happened how it happened.
But if there was an interaction -- they knew each other because.
Usually say -- this to be that doctor yellow we I don't know what does it doesn't make any sense that that somebody's gonna walk over to a caller.
And for no reason -- the gun and unless somebody's.
I -- I I without either earlier or your -- I believe.
I believe that that person of interest in that video just based on my own experience in investigating cases like this may have been the signal guy.
That's why the police need that person at first person to -- absolutely -- and I can't the other issue not only -- -- -- but as the doctor was referring to with you have the touching you have potential DNA potential fingerprints you can make the connection -- the surveillance with the physical evidence right and get the person they'll I think they'll get the person.
The issue's going to be did they know each other before.
Our and that that'll be -- able to resolve.
All right guys what does it tell you that the guys who came up tomorrow -- car were on foot what does that tell -- Well well -- tells me there from the neighborhood.
Yes they're they're that -- probably live in the area as many of these.
Shooters in that area live and -- you go back to ballistics as far as evidence what is though.
For lack for a better term weapon of choice in that area you'll find that believes this is gonna tell the police what weapon was used and if there are a lot of gang members using that same time not only that what what would you say that the bullet second -- -- -- -- explain that.
Well they're gonna they're gonna we're examined the the bullet they're gonna examine the shell casing.
And that will actually bring them back to the type of gun and then the police will go -- try to find out where that -- originated and look at its history.
All right last -- judge if -- from the neighborhood that makes it more likely that they going to be uncovered -- gonna be court and ultimately the family.
We'll get justice.
And you know what else you've got crime stoppers I -- we've got a crime -- number here right at the bottom of the screen.
That is gonna who -- cause someone hopefully to make a phone call anyway I want to thank our great panel.
