Obama and governor Romney spoke at -- there at at the convention this weekend that was an appeal to Hispanic voters.

-- spoke to the National Association of Latino Elected Officials in Florida this week.

Ronnie is not -- -- he would reverse the president's new announcement the plane to stop deportation of children who belong to illegal immigrants but he has said he wanted more long term plan.

You're -- a talk about it more is Republican congressman and -- supporter.

Connie Mack thank you for joining us are.

Thank you so much for having machines and I'm I'm talking about Florida where Mitt Romney right now trails significantly when it comes to Hispanic voters.

And how they feel about the president much more in president Obama's camp.

What does governor Romney need to do to close that gap and candy.

Well first of all I think it's important to recognize that.

Mitt Romney has been talking about the economy and jobs and no matter -- you are in the state of Florida where you come from in the state of Florida.

You're concerned about jobs in this economy and so.

You know the the Hispanic population in in Florida are concerned about jobs putting food on the table.

Putting a roof over their head and Mitt Romney has been speaking to them on those issues.

That's important to them when I when I travel through the state and I'm down in them in Miami.

And -- meet with you know Cuban Americans.

And their questions are about the economy and jobs not about immigration.

Well it is on.

In front burner it seems because of the president set announcement about a policy change giving prosecutorial discretion when it comes to illegal immigrants here in this country.

-- solutions are Republicans and and more specifically Mitt Romney going to offer when he comes to immigration reform.

As folks on both sides of the Allan green needs to happen.

Well again this is I think there's a lot of people in Florida a lot of Hispanics in Florida who are really upset with the president here -- the president had two years we had a super majority in the house and the senate.

And obviously the presidency and they did nothing and then at this last minute.

To try to change the subject from.

Jobs in the economy.

He pulls this maneuver ignoring the constitution.

Am ignoring the rule of law.

-- kill Mitt Romney has said that there are a lot of things we need to deal -- personally need to secure the border.

Make sure that people that we have a border both north and south that is secure so we don't have.

You know terrorists in in drugs are moving across our border.

We also have to look at things like.

But we've also got a system that is almost it's almost impossible for people who are trying to get to this country.

Legally to follow we need to update those laws.

Modernize those laws so people don't have to hire a team of lawyers.

But they can do it in a legal way and right now it's it's so cumbersome to do that and Mitt Romney has a plan to do that.

Do you think there's an appetite on Capitol Hill to -- the -- and find some sort of compromising and getting some of those things done.

I think so but it's gonna take strong leadership from president when when Mitt Romney becomes president.

And I think he can do that you know the Democrats up to this point they just want to play politics with this issue.

And it's it's really shameful and if you see what's happened.

Again the president had the majority's.

In the in the house in the senate he could've done something on this issue instead he dealt with cash for clunkers and other programs that.

Just didn't make sense and now the last minute he tries to circumvent the constitution and the rule of law and it's a shame.

At congress and very quickly -- want to ask you you voted this week in house oversight committee to move forward with contempt proceedings against the attorney general.

Could go to a full vote in the house this week do you predict -- colleagues Republican indoor Democrats are going to join together and pass to contempt resolution.

I can't speak for the Democrats but I think the Republicans in the house are prepared and ready to make that vote.

It is clear that the Justice Department.

Does not want to give up the documents in -- doing anything they can.

To try to avoid giving up the documents remember we have a dead Border Patrol agent we have a program that guns were walking.

Into Mexico those guns were used to kill a -- a Border Patrol agent and we've got a Justice Department that has already lied to congress.

And now there they're trying to it as prosecutors do.

Throw enough stuff up on the wall to create distractions instead of doing what.

They're required to do and is that is to turn over the documents -- congressman Connie Mack a Florida thank you so much for joining us.
