Colonials are speaking out about one.
Their -- even being heard.
But this is the only member of congress who is actually part of the millennial generation 31 years old he's been in congress since he was 27.
-- -- -- -- -- I don't -- -- kind of go over to this group and and we will start I believe the first question comes.
-- -- right governor and congressman this is Carlos Astacio.
My question is in regards to immigration reform I'm personally -- and immigration reform because I come from a family of immigrants.
And some of my closest friends have been directly affected by Obama's reason executive order.
So my question is in regards to the -- -- -- the I'm sorry we're to win the -- -- election do you believe -- repeal Obama's order or and if not.
-- it and if he did what actions -- sense would be taken to address giving words to people that were brought here at a young age from other countries.
Well first of all I think a president Romney would uphold the rule of law.
And like a president Romney I believe in a balance of powers.
And no matter how passionate you are about any any law that you'd like passed we have a congress and not a king.
And so when I first say is I think it's inappropriate for any president no matter how passionate they are about a law they'd like to see -- to do something unilaterally -- the president did.
That said if -- if present -- is elected as he has said he -- what he will work to pass a bipartisan.
DREAM Act or provision to deal with those who are brought here -- no effort of their own but by the parents illegally.
So that they can stay here go to school.
And and it ultimately did get a job.
Look at what senator rubio has been working on in the in the senate bipartisan.
Version of the DREAM Act there have been very very important piece of legislation that -- passed.
Throughout our country's history over 200 years but many of them of taking years to do it.
But they've taken presidential leadership and I think on the issue of immigration reform Democrats -- Republicans have to agree -- one thing.
For the last three and a half years there's been little to no presidential leadership on the issue the issue of immigration reform and I think it's pure politics with the president just did a few weeks ago.
-- the next question for the.
Seafood from hackers I thumb my question is -- geared toward education specifically in the New Jersey area.
I'm currently as a lot of people know Chris Christie has cut a lot of money from public schools especially in Abbott districts.
And I currently and from Newark, New Jersey and I've seen how the cuts had drastically you know -- public education especially my school.
-- -- do you think that the federal government should use education cuts as a means of balancing the budget.
Well as you know as that.
Our constitution says the primary role of of public education is the -- the states so I think that's why you're seeing the -- pack -- and public education for K12 specifically at the states I'm not sure.
That that the federal government will have as big an impact when it comes to cuts.
On to your point about cutting -- education I started out on a school -- actually for four years on public school board.
And so I think funding for public education is extremely important.
I think it's a great equalizer in our country no matter where you come from your background if you work hard you can accomplish great things because of our school systems we have and our country.
-- I also believe that just is.
I have to cut back during down economic times people have to do more with less I don't think public sector position should be exempt from that.
Whether the schools or universities.
Or the military any unit of and so I think education should be up there with all of the other sacred cows that people might have in terms of cutting back when we're down.
Next question -- congressman please.
-- -- on Houghton.
My question is concerning the youth vote.
I -- newly registered voter.
I Democrat you know I grew up in a -- -- that's purely democratic.
You know my brother -- -- they're both nine years old look up to Obama especially you know the president for being -- the hope of change the face of change for America.
My quick question is why should -- Republican.
Why should you vote further -- Kansas -- real simple.
President Obama aptly said.
When he was first installed as our president that if you have things turn around in three and a half years -- B a one term proposition.
The fact of matter is the president laid out his course for how he thought the economy should -- be turned around.
Whether it be bailing out the auto industry whether it be doing that with the event Affordable Care Act as one of his major proposals.
The Republicans offer a different plan and that is how we believe we got to rein in the mountain of debt.
I -- young person the sixteen trillion dollars in debt is not going to be paid for.
By by foreigners is going to be paid for by American citizens of the next generation we believe any free economy where people can compete.
Where their own energy yen and determination will determine their success I'm not a nanny state government.
Where get more government jobs and more government jobs just leads to more debt.
I don't mean it was less opportunity for people of our generation so it's really one.
Of government -- the private sector.
