This week of course the Supreme Court is expected to hand down that major ruling on the constitutionality of Arizona's tough.

Illegal immigration -- so what -- -- that have on the presidential race.

-- -- right now right in studio back on the -- set a -- -- author of this book let's take a look together at American son Marco Rubio climbing up the charts right now.

But said -- -- -- was talking about Obama care.

Not many people are talking about the significance of the Arizona law do you think the laws to -- -- I think the -- constitutional that's of the supreme court's gonna rule on this week and I talk about that in the book a number of first thing -- say is this issue came up during my campaign and I grappled with a because -- -- made me uncomfortable but I understood as I learn more about what Arizona was facing.

Arizona has an all out border problem unlike any other state in the country certainly -- like Florida so I think they have the right to do it I think it's constitutional I think the Supreme Court can and should uphold that.

But I don't think the law as a model for the country I think the model for the country is for the federal government to do its job and and -- -- reminded people is.

That at the federal government was enforcing our immigration laws.

And had a workable illegal immigration system you would need Arizona -- why does it make you uncomfortable person.

Because I think the notion at especially the way it was drafted at the beginning made it sound like the police to pull people over because of what they looked like what the president said that if you get you know Jimmy could be pulled overall I think now -- first couple things happened the first of all the law was amended after that and that's where my position shifted on because the law was changed and and it -- specifically banned that sort of thing from happening.

But I think what we need to do yes look I think Arizona type laws are not the ideal but we have to understand why states like Arizona did it and it -- you don't like Arizona laws.

Than the federal government should do its job at the federal government had been doing its job and spending money defending the border.

An electronic verification system these sorts of things.

I don't think you would have Arizona type laws across the country and I don't think -- the ideal way to handle this issue I've never believed in state immigration policies.

But I understand why state like Arizona house and I do believe it's constitutional what do you think about the way Mitt Romney would handle things if he were elected president did today I think he's been very forward leaning and I really -- Very happy with the way Mitt Romney has been expressing himself on this issue and on all the issues really but on this issue in particular -- now I think he's been the most compelling voice in favor of legal immigration.

That we've seen in quite some times in terms of lines lighting up the sequential factors number one you need enforcement you have to secure the border you have -- verified.

Number two we are going to modernize and improve the legal immigration system and had a great line last week in a speech in Orlando where he said.

That he knew we need to make illegal immigration more attractive than illegal immigration and I think that's exactly on point I don't know anyone who would rather immigrate illegally.

But I think one of the greatest contributors to illegal immigration in America.

Is a broken legal immigration system.

Obama -- and Enron instead it has gotten some eyebrows raised -- that he would help expedite and speed up.

The green card process people pointed out that's Congress's job.

And so -- once again a president may have to do -- and run around congress as President Obama just -- to deal with immigration do you think that he can tackle the green cards as president.

Yeah absolutely not I think that's a misread -- on the -- is giving a speech about executive orders he would issue I think he was talking about the kinds of policies.

That he would put his presidency behind.

And look presidential leadership matters it's the reason why many of these issues haven't been solved because we don't have presidential leadership and what.

What Mitt Romney outlined in this specific ideas as part of a bigger idea about how to modernize legal immigration I think.

The speech that he gave last week -- lining out what -- modern 21 century.

Legal immigration system looks for.

Looks like for America I think was excellent senator do you regret saying 67 months ago done in those circumstances lead in the presidential ticket now what I've decided not even to discuss it anymore -- -- -- situation because everybody asks him that well and more importantly though I mean I think that Mitt Romney deserves the space to make a good decision which is always made in his life Mitt Romney is life and him on things that people don't realize this.

Where should realize more is that he's a very successful person -- just a successful political figure.

Any successful because is always make good decisions he'll make another great decision well we made a great decision booking you on this Monday his new book once again it's called an American site and check it out.

He's an American senator Marco Rubio thank you thank you god help -- on radio and a little.
