And goes.

-- -- good job that was way back.

And march 23 2010.

When President Obama signed into law is sweeping historic health law.

-- now hangs in the balance over the Supreme Court as justices are torturing us making us wait until the last moment the last day that they possibly could.

To tell us whether that -- stands or falls in whole or in part.

We but we -- get a little appetizer today with a decision on Arizona's controversial but very popular.

-- -- -- -- Requires police to check on the citizenship.

Status of those whom they detain.

For other crimes Fred Barnes is Smart and helping us -- our way through that.

So let us now add another layer of excellence to the top of this.

With Shannon Greene who is over at the Supreme Court a busy day at the court -- Shannon.

It absolutely -- everybody is waiting -- -- -- on health -- we had 6 -- this morning and we were waiting only got two of them.

One of them was the ruling on the SP 1070 Arizona line now that is where all eyes are.

For now until Thursday when we get the rest of the opinions including health care.

The the question is on this Arizona law -- -- trying to Parse it here -- But we are not an attorney and we -- we will and we do not cover the Supreme Court.

You're both of those things -- the question is.

Who wins who loses on this -- -- it seems like both sides got something.

They did and both sides are claiming victory it's interesting because -- -- there were four provisions of the law that had been basically put on hold by the lower -- then the ninth circuit agreed with doing that so those are provisions were in play here at the Supreme Court.

Three of them were struck down.

We figured that you know at least it would be a split victory here it is for -- -- victory.

In the big guy I think -- the one provision they see mattered most of them -- -- defection to -- which allows police officers that they stop somebody and -- having reasonable suspicion to believe that person is here illegally after they stopped them for another and violation of some kind.

Then they have a duty to determine the immigration status of that individual.

So you hear the statements from governor brewer and -- saying at NASA wind -- On the other side looks like the -- feeling ill and other democratic lawmakers are saying actually it's a big Wendy has three chunks of the law -- struck down you only got one.

But Arizona says it was their most important -- that.

31.

I mentioned you need progress she's pretty please will you promise that we get the help decision on Thursday please.

To the best of my ability yes we've been told by the court Thursday is the last day the next thing we'll get opinions at the last day of the term that means we get the four remaining opinions.

Which includes the big.

And I made my husband to a drive by of the Supreme Court so I can see -- the -- -- on.

And that they indeed -- somebody has written a midnight we'll hear whether the justices -- their clergy or as some people -- said probably just the cleaning crew uneven very busy around the clock.

Here we should show amber you miss it kinda -- -- -- -- husband your grand piano.

CNN he's got a lot better if that's right have a great week we think it's opening kick them.

All right Fred I want to show you this and people forget this they forget this fact.

That the public approval for.

The Arizona law and when we talk about the Arizona -- we're talking essentially about that provision that was allowed to stand today 65%.

Duty in an April foxy people.

This law.

Is popular it has been pretty consistently portrayed as something shocking or divisive but 65% in the country that has divided is this what is pretty high number.

It is the big thing remember it being -- and knowledge that -- debate public debate not just the oral arguments before the bill before the court the enemies and Arizona are the critics of it.

And talked about in almost entirely saying no this would allow police to profile.

And they pick out people up Hispanics who who they thought maybe were illegal immigrants and then stop them on some phony reason they do when they're really -- to demand that they.

Does show evidence that there.

In the United States legally so this was the main one it it was upheld.

That is another thing -- actually and I like the way you use the word appetizer this an appetizer for what may go on later in the week.

This fits exactly with the way the oral arguments went at least I read I read them and they Shannon Breen knows about them of course.

Then he did it look like there is going to be uphill.
