-- the impact segment tonight the seemingly endless wait for the obamacare ruling is almost over.

The supreme court's decision on the president's health care law is set to come down now on Thursday.

But a new poll by -- right leaning advocacy group says 58%.

Of Americans want all or some of the law repealed.

So how -- -- going to impact the presidential election.

You turn out analyze Fox News contributors Mary Katharine Ham and Juan Williams both are with me in Washington DC both of the -- All right Juan Miguel lay it lay it out -- how does this affect President Obama assuming as most.

Think that at least part of this law will be struck down as unconstitutional let's just say it's the individual mandate and the rest of the -- stance president impact.

Well if the if the individual mandate goes.

I think it's a defeat for President Obama and it will be portrayed as such but I think the president has a fallback position or in that he can say.

Hey there are some consumer friendly items that are still in the deal here if you're looking to.

Keep your kid on the insurance if -- concerned about preexisting conditions and the like.

It's still there if you're concerned about closing the doughnut hole and seniors are who have Medicare Advantage -- still there I did these things for you I'm a guy right now.

There are some other alternatives they could also strike down some of those.

Provisions now and that makes it harder for him and -- if they just write down the whole thing that it's a total defeat so.

-- always in there that really works for him is either upheld or.

There's kind of some wiggle room -- it's just the mandate that's ruled unconstitutional.

Mary -- I have this view that -- the entire thing has struck down President Obama can actually say look this is why -- need to be.

Reelected I need I had to put another justice on this court -- that opportunity.

I'm gonna put a justice on the court nominate someone who's actually going to be an evolutionary thinker and apply constitutional principles.

And it knocked it not so as to overturn the will of congress I think he can make.

Actually a positive argument for Israel action I wouldn't buy it but I could see Brothers -- -- I can make that argument I think it's true -- that would be more.

More great for the base and maybe not necessarily independence if you look at the polling on this particular -- the public was not.

With him on this especially towards the end of the process after seeing how things went down.

They're still not within which I've been surprised -- conservatives have continued to make an argument against it.

People have been very receptive to argument that it's not constitutional that there are limits on what congress can actually do which is pretty rare with the general public they don't always pay attention a constitutional arguments.

So I think it's tough for him to make an argument.

In the short term politically coming out anyway even if it's the best case scenario doesn't go to the Rose Garden say hah hah I knew this lobby you all hate that I wasted a year on would barely passed clusters constitutional.

Victory and I just I don't think it very well your well.

That's more compelling to run our heart you know I think -- arguments pretty strong I think a lot of people think the court is now in respect for the court -- exactly.

On the other right that I they had to do that at -- there right doesn't have a lot of respect but generally respect for the courts that low ebb.

And he could play that -- let me say to Mary Katherine you know what the polling on this is not the way you describe and certainly not the way that you -- described in the open which was.

It doesn't have the public option they wanted to do more they -- Americans think the government should do and here's here's what president or not that's not true and here's what I here's what Americans really think.

That if the court strikes it down over 70% of Americans say you know what.

We should not let the status will return where the insurance basically they're lying in total after him so right -- the pressure that goes about it today.

That if you look at the ruling so far on health care most of them -- upheld this law including the mandate and and even the one court the Atlanta court and knocked that fit well the mandates no good but the rest -- its fine and I think that tells you the way that most judges think about.

I think where this thing is going in there are those seem to get a lot of discomfort and I think for sure and I never -- count my justices before they had sort of -- but it.

I didn't -- I I do think that yes that there was a lot of hubris involved in its closing famously said seriously to questions of whether it might be unconstitutional they opted not to discuss that in congress and to deal with that -- -- they didn't wanna call it attacks the thing that wouldn't pass.

And look -- this is what you've got kids that it's bad all of for the president thank -- -- I'll disagree slightly with you guys -- that I think his argument that you proposing big floor would actually.

Maybe appeal to very blessed and very right but I think independents actually have a lot of respect for the court and that you have to tread lightly in that way.
