But there is talk that maybe holder could cut a deal here the president could cut a deal with Republicans -- to avoid this contempt.

The tone doesn't sound like they're heading in that direction we've had an exchange of electronic communications if you will letter sent from -- -- To President Obama where he suggests that perhaps.

President Obama is using every bit of presidential power to further obstructed congressional investigation.

We've got that response America filled his spokesman over the White House and saying.

That congressman ices logic is about makes as much -- -- when he suggested.

That perhaps fast and furious was designed to promote gun control in the US.

And so you got the White House shooting back saying.

For the past thirty years or so executive privilege has been done by both.

Republican and democratic administrations.

Making reference to President Reagan as well and their argument.

And so they're saying we are doing what other administrations have done.

But Republicans are countering by saying wait -- -- can have it both ways here either the White House was not involved in fast and furious.

Or if it was we want to know what the White House knew and and who precisely at the White House was involved and so they're duking it out the latest guidance I have is that.

This contempt vote is scheduled for Thursday.

Which is interesting timing when you consider the the Supreme Court yeah they have a few things going on related health care that point so.

A lot of -- here on Capitol Hill about 48 hours ahead of -- scheduled contempt vote unless they had to deal.

-- -- -- The stuff that needs to Pelosi and now African American in groups are saying.

That this contempt.

-- pursuing this -- against holder is an effort to allow voter suppression because holder is doing that.

That discussion.

Certainly since it essentially accuses -- sitting speaker of the house that -- -- co conspirator.

Even enable any bad act that can't be helping it be good effort to bridge -- deal here right.

Not at all and then when you consider you're gonna have.

Cable -- the East Coast.

Al Sharpton also as part of the defender group should be -- thing.

But yeah its it's certainly not gonna further the argument that it.

You know they claim that the Republicans are grasping at straws for their.

Arguments related to fast and furious well you know voter suppression when you're asking the attorney general for documents where an American border agent.

Was actually killed.

I mean you know when he compared to other political scandals you know sometimes it's.

Lying or obstructing justice -- that sort of thing but this is where somebody actually ended up dead along the border -- his parents for the past week we've seen them come out and say.

Eighteen months later we need answers about what happened to our son and so.

To suggest that this is all about voter suppression.

Initially the problem came down to whether or not -- willing to turn over some materials and that icing his committee could decide whether it was enough to stop to contempt vote while holder said.

There's no way he's turning over the material as he gets -- guarantee ahead of time that there won't be content.

Vote there's no deal on that -- -- folks have said we're not gonna do that so -- holders in the White House change their minds and we're gonna give you this stuff you want.

That's your review and then decide whether or not to continue the investigation holding contempt vote on -- -- it may or may not be withheld.

Unless they agree on that nobody's really -- and Thursday's gonna come around now they did scheduled for later in the week -- giving time just giving wiggle room.

But what we see today is certainly no indication that a deal is forthcoming and you see the White House calling -- his latest letter absurd.

You have -- is saying the White House is -- hiding something or lying -- are breaking the law mean these are not words that sound like a deal is imminent.

So as of two.

It's only surly don't necessarily any rest.
