In Northern Virginia the storm killed at least two people.

A young man was killed by a tree falling on his car.

And in ninety year old woman was crushed to death in her own bedroom.

In Washington DC.

Roadways and sidewalks are littered with debris the storms also creating widespread power outages leaving hundreds of thousands of people.

In the dark and without air conditioning.
