Cellphones and.

All's.

Well school officials clearly have the authority to set policies and procedures they keep schools safe orderly and disciplined and there's no constitutional right to have -- solve -- the biggest issue with cell -- Is -- the argument tends to be under the guise of safety when it's really parental one student convenience and in a real crisis situation.

It is -- cell phones texting expedite parental flocking to the school and accelerates rumors that gets parents there that I actually -- police fire and Emergency Medical Services from getting in and out.

And it distracts kids from following the directions from a responsible trained adults who can keep them safe in the first place.

I saw a lot of people out there watching this morning side with you because we all -- -- -- schools we didn't have -- and we were growing up they say we survived -- our kids can do the same.

However.

David you are former and DEA agent and you're a parent and you're -- to tell us to sell me on why do you think kids should have -- In all of your experience is -- DEA agent and his apparent why.

You think at the -- at her look first of all young there is no constitutional right on the cell -- no constitutional right to go to school.

The fact is that you have a technology that can be number one -- number two can enhance safety and security.

Absolutely the schools have a right to set policy as far as far cellphone usage in school.

Where I reject the -- authority is you cannot bring it in because -- second that school bell rings and the -- leave school I wanna be able to get in touch with my child period.

I don't want have to pay to have a cellphone watch during the day.

And god forbid there is some incident -- TV chapter inverse with the schools have dropped the ball.

And there have been incidents where that's -- a school a cell phone message has made a difference in response.

That's also another issue.

Plus how many times has inappropriate conduct the dangers of conduct.

Been captured on a cell -- in the in an emergency situation that's another issue but my biggest my biggest feeling is as -- parent.

-- at school bell rings I want to be able to have access to my child period.

I -- David and you have the the flip side of the S and Canada you've made this argument when there is a crisis.

All these cell phones going off all these kids calling their parents' parents are showing up at the school when.

Most of -- should be listening to the principal or to the superintendent -- give us directions to know exactly how to handle these emergency situations if you.

Hundreds of parents showing up at the school to pick up their kids and that's not what's supposed to happen it it makes the crisis even worse.

Did you address this to me -- -- where to -- later one whoever wants that -- Well I I would I would just say this I'm a parent as well and if I don't have the confidence in my school officials.

That they can keep my kids safe I have a much bigger issue -- and one that's -- -- be cured by an -- cell phone and me being able to get in touch with my kids what I have there is not a problem with the cell phone.

And an issue I have a problem with my confidence -- -- competence of my child is -- there -- school officials to take care my child and that is the issue that needs to be addressed.

I'm I do.

David you we can respond really quick like -- I'm not -- I'm not a big fan of the -- nanny state thing most school officials do know what to do an emergency.

But I can tell you again chapter and verse active shooters disgruntled individuals in schools.

There many times in the schools are not equipped to handle wrist and let the parents decide you know what what as a parent you have you that's that's your job as a -- Can David playing the semi official think it.
