My house speaker John Boehner vowing to take attorney general Eric Holder -- court.

Saying that the Republicans will push a contempt case against him over his decision.

To withhold documents and the fast and furious gun trafficking investigation.

The American people have a right to know what happened here.

Brian -- family has a right to know what happened here.

And the fact is is that the only facts.

That we've received.

About this entire fast and furious operation came from whistle blowers.

And others associate what.

We got no information.

That helped and our investigation.

-- from the Justice Department that any point in this investigation.

The American people deserve the truth.

This comes on the heels of a letter sent by the Justice Department stating that they will not prosecute holder.

A Tony say -- Republican campaign consultants and national political correspondent.

Sport talk radio news service and Marjorie -- and former consultant to the President Obama campaign.

And principal of Clifton consulting joining us now with their take on this thanks for joining yes good morning.

Good morning.

So the house passed two resolutions that put attorney general holder and contempt for failing to provide additional documents to congressional investigators.

The criminal contempt resolution and civil contempt resolution.

And it's that second one that grants -- house the ability to ask the court to compel the Justice Department to hand over of the documents and Tony.

I'll begin with you is that a mistake.

It's certainly not.

Because at the bottom line and the end of the day we have to remember while we engage in all the kind of partisan talking points back and forth.

A border agent is dead as a result of this operation and it goes to the heart of two issues that are competent that are important to have confidence in our government.

That's accountability.

And competence something wrong happened whether or not Eric Holder condoned it whether or not Eric Holder authorize that we don't know.

At this point what we do know if he is not cooperated and he is obstructed.

In the investigation to get to the truth.

So if this is the only mechanism by which we can achieve the truth I think the congress has an obligation to the Terry family.

To all law enforcement and to the country to pursue this even if it's only in civil.

-- -- -- -- Well I think we're in the heart of campaign season and while you absolutely this with clumsy and that's with clumsy by -- by holder by the Justice Department.

There's a difference and -- of competency.

And criminality and right now what we've got -- of playing politics.

The fact of the matter is they've come to Eric Holder he has testified nine separate times about this particular case.

In the distant that day his office as well as the DOJ provided over 7000.

Documents that we requested by by -- oversight committee.

And time and time again he came forward said look.

Let's create a good faith agreement will provide anything that you want to see anything related to this case.

If you'll just released this content and we can just in good faith call that the truth and yet.

Absolutely clumsy but that but again not a reason to going to get -- an ice to refused.

They are actually did not want to have to bring this forward.

But again he's getting a lot of pressure from Republican Party right now would be a great time to make Democrats look sloppy and make Eric Holder look bad.

But I think it's a very different thing right now I don't understand how the American people are benefiting yeah from the amount of time and energy and resource and -- are being required to attend there's -- learn what.

-- please you said a number that is so misleading and has to be corrected it.

-- for the public record here is steady released 7600.

Pages well there are 150000.

That are related -- this botched.

Operation number one number two he has.

Bomb our obligation to release the documents that are in the subpoena he can't think this.

Like an Al a carte menu and say well yes for this but I really feel like giving you that and if he has nothing to hide stop hiding it and to assert this.

-- solely be political situation or political theatrics.

It's an insult to a -- bordering.

And as Tony and Tony your I you know what your lovely but.

I have to disagree I could play he actually did he actually did come forward and say that he would release any documents you want to get -- that would -- a good faith agreement.

That they would not pursue content and I certainly would not a person -- -- have not released the documents that were in the subpoena to how does he I understand that point.

And Marjorie actually of the political and Marjorie to jump off that many -- -- than the -- it was released a lot of it was blacked out.

And in a letter -- speaker Boehner deputy attorney general James Cole said the holder properly withheld documents under executive privilege.

Which allows President Obama to keep private documents on internal government discussions.

But speaker Boehner says the only fact we heard him say that only facts that have come that they had.

Have come from that whistle blowers and others associated with it so why not just released the documents.

And the bottom line question is does the family of Brian Terry not deserve to -- the trip.

Marjorie well I absolutely believe that Brian -- deserves justice but I think unfortunately this -- an instance -- just carelessness frankly by the dear Jack.

I'd bet that there's been nothing and even I think himself -- that there is not one shred of evidence that actually links.

Eric Holder to having known anything about this operation and again gun walking is not anything new.

This is something that the Bush Administration have three similar operations.

Now this particular operation as Eric Holder said was appalling and it was shut down the minute he knew about it the bush operation -- that's a narrow margin on -- Busch operation was a quarter.

Of this size and did not lead to guns going over the border that ended up killing.

American -- so -- and this kind of bush blame analogy.

The reality is Eric Holder may very well not have known about fast and -- but we will not know what he knew and when he knew it.

Unless he was transparent.

About this in releasing the documents requested in the subpoena.

And let me talk about briefly if I can -- about how to crack at that Tony there's no guarantee this is a winning issue for Republicans this is about good government and honoring the life of everybody on that border on the American side who who likes to protect our citizens.

-- and on that -- -- have to wrap it up Tony sayegh and Marjorie Clifton thank you very much for joining us we appreciate their problem thank you -- week.
