Ed thanks senior political analyst Brit Hume is here with his thoughts on the tax or penalty question to -- -- -- welcome back thank you.
The fumbling in the Romney camp today and explain the governor's position on the supreme court's finding it to health care fund is actually taxes certainly embarrassing.
You'll doubtless be seen as further evidence that the governor is unable to use the health -- -- to his advantage.
But that does not mean that the issue will not work to his advantage anyway.
That's because obamacare remains as unpopular as ever in the president owns it.
It is his signature achievement and for much of his first two years he set aside all other priorities including the economy to push it through congress.
Romney meanwhile has pledged to repeal it despite the health care skeletons in his own closet.
The question then is this will voters who want to get rid of obamacare vote for Obama because they have misgivings about the Romney record on the issue.
It's a little like the economy Democrats take comfort from polls that show people blame President Bush for the recession.
But that's the wrong question because the same people -- also blamed President Obama.
For his failure to fix it indeed the polls suggest -- do exactly that which explains his -- job approval ratings on the economy.
In the end these are two issues these two issues are a burden on the incumbent they're part of his record and if history is any guide that record will decide the election.
-- and -- what do you make of the conservative backlash against the Chief Justice for four made the decision that he made regarding health care and beat this idea that he changed his position of the settlement among conservatives isn't you know but it's pretty strong and I think the evidence is pretty strong as well that the his fellow court conservatives or furious with.
That there was there and things of that in the opinion itself and there are things are leaking out that he'd change his position.
Sounded almost never happened in the Supreme Court and I can can best explained by the -- -- his fellow conservatives.
Are disappointed however.
I don't think they've seen a list of I -- I would suspect they haven't but some early summer drama indeed be chewed over all the way to the convention Britain to see you thanks so much.
