Yeah it's an Republican members of congress are a bit hot under the collar they are firing off a strong message to the nation's governors they're telling the governor is not to implement health care exchanges.

The GOP lawmakers -- Obama -- mandated exchanges expensive and intrusive.

The governors agree Louisiana governor -- should -- join this big governor.

Hey Greta how are you this evening.

I grew up governor Scott of Florida tell us -- the night that he is not going to begin developing these exchanges.

I'm curious Louisiana and -- state.

Do you intend to begin developing these exchanges if not why not.

Actually -- we declared over a year ago we were not indeed exchanges we said immediately after the court ruling.

We're not -- expanding our Medicaid program -- this is a huge mistake for the country certainly for the state of Louisiana we need to do everything we can't repeal obamacare.

Greta let's step back and realize what they're doing in the middle of the greatest recession since the Great Depression the president is -- get another entitlement program.

We can't afford the ones we got one point 76 trillion dollars in new spending over 500 million dollars in tax increases over 500 billion dollars in Medicare cuts.

This is simply not affordable it's not sustainable you know we used to celebrate and we got people -- of government programs instead this present seems to want to make.

More and more Americans dependent on the government.

Food all you looking ahead of an array of government programs food stamps and almost grown -- percent the last five years now wants more Americans on government run health care.

He just doesn't make sense are taxpayers doesn't make sense for the state of Louisiana.

Do you have any idea of apart from the other things like expanded mandate which you now can opt out of -- an accident but.

Just the cost of setting up the exchanges I don't have a sense of what did that and -- many governors are rejecting it I know members of congress and senator asking not to do it but here's would give any idea what the actual cost of exchange set up we're in Louisiana -- What -- rejected all the grants we know from other states experience -- it could easily run in the tens of millions of dollars.

This is the tip of the iceberg the reality is the Medicaid expansion we've calculator Health Department calculated the first ten years of implementation cost are taxpayers over three million dollars.

And -- here is what's really scary over a 100000 people would then be on Medicaid that today -- private insurance we've seen promise after promise broken by this present when it comes to health care my real concerns.

Not just the cost of actually running the exchange and what it does to premiums what it does to employers and always in a way does our taxpayers.

Think about all the promises that have been broken the president said frames and go down 2500 dollars that went up 9% last year according to Kaiser he said that he was gonna leave Medicare alone protect Medicare.

That -- messes actuary says the cuts are not sustainable not realistic.

He said people would lose their plans are doctors some estimates as many as twenty million Americans could lose their health care their employer provided health care coverage.

He is made promise after promise it's not being kept in obamacare in this health care law.

I think the real cost the exchanges will be higher health care cost lower quality of health care more government intrusion in micromanaging health care.

That's a big mistake -- when you elect Mitt Romney repeal Obama care and and this culture of dependence.

He's in what is sure objection to this helps statuette this health care statue that at Louisiana -- -- Florida.

More than just a dumb idea or from an -- -- -- ideology is the -- you know good big government are bigger government.

And federalism which is -- or maybe it's offering.

How -- -- -- -- -- all the above option because they and they the reality is those are all three great descriptions of this law.

The reality is is it doesn't bend the cost curve down is the president -- -- was gonna do it doesn't put patients and their doctors in control.

Why in the world we think it makes sense that the government come -- take over almost a sixth of the economy again we can't afford the programs we've got the government sort of spending 2.4 percent of the GDP.

You know we've got a choice do we go the way of Europe you know our founding fathers were celebrating there were -- our independence.

I don't think they intended us we -- this depended on government run -- -- Explain to me this is our understanding that the government expansion for the first number of years and even the -- fully born by the federal government and then set some point down the road a couple years of 10% will be paid for.

But by your state Louisiana and every state.

-- in any event you don't have this Medicaid.

Medicaid expansion the people who there's -- this group in the middle who don't have any sort of of health insurance.

I assume that they're gonna show up on the doorstep of hospitals around the state.

And some president pay for because we're not a state -- so we're not a country that simply looks away from bullying people or people of head injuries.

We all the stuff is going to be paid for so I mean I Julio who will be paid for this if there is -- this expansion.

-- two things -- right now today Louisiana actually forty had tremendous experience in government run health -- the only state in the country.

That runs our own government owned government operated hostile Bobbie to first tell you that's not the best way to provide health and replacing that -- we're transitioning folks are Medicaid program -- privately run insurance coverage but.

Here's the bigger point.

We're just talking about repeal obamacare that's the first of we've got to replace -- governor -- talked about we do need help people buy health care coverage we need to make insurance portable cross state lines I'll cross side jobs we need and help those people preexisting conditions.

Those with continues coverage make sure they don't face discrimination.

Those buying insurance for the first time actually got high risk pools and reinsurance -- them before that insurance when they're -- he's also outlined other reforms took the Medicare program as well as -- Medicaid -- to give states more flexibility so nobody is saying leave these folks uninsured what we are saying is a government run program and -- new government entitlement program when we can't afford the -- -- -- makes absolutely no sense.

At a time we got over fifteen trillion dollars of debt we're -- over a trillion dollars from China.

What is borrowing from our children and grandchildren anymore we're literally impacting our our -- and our economy today.

You -- the Democrats will try to attack Republicans will try to say this is free health care.

It's not free I think governors have to stand up and say these federal dollars are taxpayer dollars we just can't continue to afford to -- thing.

Governor thank you -- Thank you Greta -- to -- the.
