Well a new study out today suggesting taking high doses of vitamin.

Other recent studies -- impact vitamin.

He's a member of proxies medical eighteen a professor of medicine at NYU laying gun medical centers in different studies Stockwell and looked at vitamin.

And calcium taken together that said he said listen it doesn't look like there's that much benefit so.

Do we take vitamin.

-- I like this study I think it clarifies a lot it was published in The New England Journal of Medicine.

It's a Swiss study it looked at eleven other studies and it basically started with your question.

Why -- previous studies conflicting and -- you know what -- found out.

The study showed that a lot of times when you studied these things you don't know if the people actually take the vitamin.

So they started with studies where people actually took vitamin.

That's really important and they found in so in other words they cherry picked better studies.

And they found this specially over the age of 65.

-- risk of fractures go up enormously 75% of the fractures occur over 75.

And in those groups and they looked it over 30000 people most of them women 90% of them women.

And they found that those taking vitamin 10% lower risk of hip fractures and other kinds of fractures I was impressed with this so.

Is the age important meaning can you actually bulk up on your vitamin.

Or is it really about taking supplements once -- -- A higher age or older age.

Jeff that's a great -- we have to study that you and I should -- -- -- be good but I don't have that answer you know should you started forty should you started fifty and another thing.

I'm not in favor of universally everyone taking vitamin.

But remember we don't get enough sunlight and that's where vitamin.

But in northern climates like where we're sitting you don't get enough vitamin.

Do you stronger bones we know if you have a vitamin.

Decent I'm Andy.

Yes he did a good -- -- list at the list from consumer reports because it's so confusing there's so many different vitamins you can take out there.

And the you've got to -- -- consumer reports that talks about the most.

You know the most add vitamin that people are taking vitamin -- was attacked then -- indeed an.

Then hey that multi vitamins issue -- taking all of this -- -- -- a combination how do we even know what to take.

I'll give -- strong opinion on this -- I don't -- multi vitamins and necessary give most of the vitamins you need to your food.

When vitamin.

I checked vitamin B twelve levels in my patient because I find that as people get older they don't absorb it as well that's a problem.

But the others in this country industrialized societies like this you don't have vitamin a deficiencies.

Vitamin.

But really we don't need multi vitamin -- -- not if you're reading a well balanced diet you don't so -- Talking to -- I -- stories and selling feel like you need to buy everything well you don't.

Well you don't but vitamin.

By the way more than a volume and we think it may help you decrease your risk of heart disease it may help against certain cancers -- Our Karl vitamin.

In an extra vitamin C tablet or something -- -- -- way pressed to shop.

Efficiently.

They're not all created equal -- but I like vitamin.

I'll take 4000 units I'll take 5000 units do not do that that's too much I think a thousand units today.

And you're they're recommending 800 units a -- at more than a thousand units a day you gonna have a physician involved.

And I think a physician should be involved period because again there is a toxic range here if you take too much.

Some good advice for us today and it's an -- -- in the stock.

Well as some might have expected that I -- take a great decision they -- very much is -- ways John.
