-- was a child -- and Americana verdict that stunned the nation.

As to the charge of first degree murder.

Verdict as to count one we the jury find the defendant not guilty so say we all -- did -- in Orlando Orange County Florida.

-- this good day of July 2011.

Signed.

For the person.

Casey Anthony acquitted of killing her two year old daughter -- -- now one year later her attorney has a new book out presumed guilty.

Casey Anthony be inside story Casey's criminal defense attorney Jose Baez joins me now good morning to say good morning senator -- gonna look at this and they're gonna say why would -- a turning write a book why.

Well you know after the verdict came -- I thought.

More people would understand the -- decision.

And instead they begin to criticize it.

And I I think there were so many facts and so many stories out there that.

Were incorrect and so many facts that weren't unknown.

To the public so it it's something that.

After long.

Amount of reflection -- I've talked to Casey Bowden and she allowed me to do so so why would the majority of the American public at this case rock.

Well because the jury got it right and people should try and understand that the jury was the only group of people.

That saw the evidence -- -- the outside influence of the media because they were sequestered.

And without the pressure.

Of the outside so.

Casey didn't have -- suitcase of money that we dropped off at the jurors house's.

They they they knew they looked at this evidence they weren't friends -- furthers.

And even though I think they want to to find her guilty because she was presumed to be guilty.

They founder of not guilty.

So you still believe in the theory that you presented in court that -- died.

In the family pool and that George Anthony helps in some capacity or did it totally himself -- the -- Her father my personal opinion is I believe in the defense that we put -- You also reveal new evidence in this -- you're saying that there was a terror in the baby's shorts why is that significant.

Well it's significant because it wasn't ripping from animals or decomposition.

Doctor Henry Lee -- rendered the opinion to me that these were rips.

That were consistent with someone trying to put on clothing that no longer fit this child.

Which gave us the impression -- belief that it's.

Whoever dressed -- Before she was deceased -- place out where she ultimately ended up.

Wasn't used to dressing her a mother would know what clothes fit her child.

And and -- certainly would have known.

And Cindy at -- even testified that those shorts no longer fit Caylee who.

But one thing that the prosecution nailed home I shot especially closing arguments was something that you could never explain.

Which was if this actually happened a baby drowned why would somebody put duct tape over a baby's mouth and then go hide the -- So that's where you say they got it they they know that home so the contrary that in -- at home because it's our it was always our position that the duct tape wasn't wrapped around Caylee skull.

There were significant issues with the placement of that duct tape.

We showed photographs of the jury where in one photo the duct tape was further away.

And another photo was closer and then all of a sudden when it got some medical examiners it was right close up against.

The skull that that basically allows for numerous conclusions and one could be that it was a state.

You now admit in this book that Casey has severe mental health issues is that because you believe she was abused her she just had those issues -- people shouldn't believe those claims where you stand.

Well -- that's what I discuss in the book you know you have to put yourself in the position it it's kind of like as I write.

What came first the chicken or the -- Is she lying about the abuse or she line because she was abuse.

And it in the -- really the only people that know that our of course Casey.

And and her father's -- the prosecution not charging George Anthony either with fat.

Alleged crime or why wouldn't they -- charge him now with the murder of Caylee Anthony is I think -- prosecutions have enough in this case.

Perhaps.

They don't feel they have enough evidence against anyone.

They seem to have quite a bit of enough evidence against Cindy Anthony for her testimony during the trial but they chose not to charge her.

So they're charging decisions of course -- -- there.

It's their responsibility I'm not a prosecutor couldn't speculate what's gonna happen to Casey Anthony she's still on probation.

-- of the relatively in hiding although she's on these video updates -- you disagree with.

What's gonna happen to her in future you know I don't know I I have hope that the public could say.

Okay she's had her day in court.

And allow the verdict to stand.

I hope that Casey can find a way to mourn.

And get on with her life and and make something.

I hope that she could contribute something and I have a -- -- will.
