Get into America's election headquarters now on the campaign trail governor Mitt Romney reportedly making some changes to his campaign staff for additions at least the Republican candidates had to be adding a few seasoned veterans to his communication team.

This comes after some criticism of the campaign from fellow conservatives.

Let's get into it -- Monica Crowley radio talk show host and author of the new book what the bleep just happened and a the happy warriors guide to the great American comeback and -- remains he is with us former political advisor to democratic senator Frank Lautenberg of YouTube's New Jersey.

Both are Fox News contributors Monica is adding people to the campaign team I guess.

-- primarily press people spokesman that kind of thing is that going to help Mitt Romney are you one of those conservatives who is critical.

Of what he's been saying of like.

Well I was disappointed that it took -- governor Romney so long to come out and call -- -- attacks which is what the Chief Justice in fact called it in his one man decision.

Took a couple of days to identified as attacks when it clearly is and this is something that.

Essentially was a political gift for governor Romney because now the president.

His opponent has to defend a highly unpopular bill in Obama care as well as the massive tax hikes.

That are going to come with that and instead of capitalizing on that right away.

He he left this sort of vacuum for one of his top strategist Eric for instance come out -- -- it's not penalty it's attacks.

It ended up muddying the waters and so what I think he's doing it's not a question of bringing in more people it's a question of being at bringing in the right people to make sure that everybody all of the surrogates as well as the candidate.

Stays on message all right so here's the problem it.

Romney's staff know the problem is Mitt Romney specifically -- this issue look Mitt Romney in Massachusetts himself -- this -- Romney care Massachusetts called a -- look at the Massachusetts.

Form that you have to fill out under governor Romney and subsequently to that.

Romney care and it calls and attacks.

And the problem is of course to -- limits on the staff that's tremendous sympathy for his staff and they're getting.

Sort of mixed messages from the -- from the principal himself.

It's obviously when they're running -- console was confused about what this is his staff is going to be confused which is why of course the problem is not bringing in new staff the problem is governor Romney himself.

And him figuring out exactly what he stands where he's flip flopped on so many issues than a -- -- deceptive sometimes confused about what to say.

Other conservatives Monica have said that he is that for President Obama is a vulnerable conservative and that Mitt Romney runs the risk.

Of losing an election I'm sorry -- a vulnerable.

Incumbent that I -- that's kind of know what accuse him of being a conservative Jon Scott -- he is.

That he is vulnerable and that.

That he he could be beaten after one term in office but that he runs the risk of losing because he's fumbling the.

Ball well I think a lot of conservatives are worried that the governor could snatching defeat from the jaws of victory here this president is very vulnerable we just got more bad economic news with only 80000 new jobs created in the month of June.

You've got this stubbornly high unemployment rate anemic economic growth may be one point 5% only in the second quarter.

We've got socialized medicine that's highly unpopular that now President Obama needs to defend so it so you say that the Obama campaign -- -- target rich environment.

The point is that the governor needs to really focus on.

The economy putting Americans back to work and also I would argue talking about big themes let this surrogates go out there and pound Obama's record.

Got the governor should be talking that big themes about.

How to get this economy back on track putting Americans back to work and also the idea of big America as opposed to big government America.

-- the president -- has defended the stimulus is something that that helped create jobs but now you've got an increase actually in.

Unemployment among state and local government workers.

In large part because the stimulus money that went to those state and local governments.

It is right now is going away and -- -- -- so how how does the president defend that.

Well because they're Republican congress unfortunately not let him continue doing what he had to -- -- -- the money back before essentially had time to do the work when you're hell hole.

That we were in a hole when Obama came into office -- can't argue that the economy was not horrible.

When he came in.

He takes more than just a few months or even a year or two to get out of the hole and the problem is -- keep priming the pump.

Monica and -- would disagree with this but when you have a Republican congress that wanted to watch Obama -- Who on day one of his inauguration got together and said our only priorities to make sure this president is like a second term don't care about the American people what they don't understand is.

When Obama does poorly the American people do poorly that goes for an incumbent president I was rooting for George Bush to fail because I knew that America failed George Bush was failing.

But unfortunately a Republican congress hasn't -- -- attitude and that's -- left for the mess we have today.

We -- that priming the pump I think most Americans said OK we'll give the president and his approach in terms of this massive keynesian infusion of government money taxpayer money into the economy let's try that.

It obviously has not -- so when you talk about getting this economy going again it's about unleashing the private sector remember when -- when they pass this nearly trillion dollar stimulus.

President Obama and his economic team promised that at this points.

Three and a half years into his tenure -- after the stimulus unemployment would be at five point 6%.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- pushing -- I'm not letting bush but I'll tell you this and when you get into the mess the bush got us into takes more than a snap of the fingers to get -- -- -- what we're gonna that got us into it and actually the discussion there Julie Monica thank you both thank you.
