And Christians have the voting Booth in November -- ought to be their priority social issues are economic issues -- in his new book -- man.

Pastor Tony Evans says they go hand in hand.

And pastor Evans joins us now.

And I'm delighted to have you.

You didn't.

Know -- -- I wanna begin despite.

Saying that I think I may get some blowback on the monologue that I started out with saying that.

I don't think that Dr.

Martin Luther King expected.

Highly elected and appointed African Americans.

-- to be able to use race as an excuse for not fulfilling a subpoena to congress.

I want you to get your reaction to that because if I'm wrong I want someone to confront me and tell me that that's not right but.

How do you feel about that.

Or race is obviously a reality but it ought never be an excuse.

When two football teams line up and they're being resisted.

Then the greatness of the offense is whether you can overcome with the defense is trying to him to -- so it's great to have them what to whatever degree it's real.

We should acknowledge it we shall overcome there's been a lot of overcoming over the years we should not use it as an excuse but we should not -- reality.

-- Do you think the Eric Holder vote in all honesty.

Was about race or was it about getting that.

Those files and and the documents that related to fast and furious.

Well congress has a right to ask questions and congress therefore has the right to receive the answers so I don't I don't automatically.

When somebody -- of the race flag except that.

Unless you can demonstrated to be true.

And often -- what you're doing is judging motives for instance is hard to -- folks' hearts you've got to judge actions and reality.

And unless you can demonstrated to be racially motivated then you have to deal with -- reality that's put on the table so no I don't automatically react that way.

You pastor one of the largest most prominent African American churches in the country.

And four years ago President Obama then candidate said that he supported traditional marriage.

That is an issue that is more important in the Hispanic community and in the African American community than it is in the white community.

How disappointed are you personally and do you think people.

Overall in the African American community are about the reversal of his position where he now endorses same sex marriage.

But the major issue because the vote slog of an culmination of the saga that's for him he's written logs and who have all the family on the future.

-- family is -- creation issue.

God created family for civilization not just Christians.

So -- redefine it is to redefine divine intentions.

As well as the history of civilization.

So there's a great disappointment and into community where apparently has been devastated where.

72% about children growing up without.

Single -- -- where were you having this crisis of community to breakdown of the family and now it's.

It's now -- in all races.

It is critical that we we try to encourage the president to reverse his position on this.

Because the African American church -- strongly.

To a biblical definition -- You've written both in your book king demand as well as in another book that you've done -- how Christian should vote.

That people ought to look for the character of the candidate more than anything else.

Do you think that people will automatically.

Vote for Barack Obama because he's African American is if they themselves.

Come from that community -- will they take a second look this time and vote more with their convictions are based on what they've -- and.

Churches like yours.

Well I hope that we reason I wrote -- Christian should vote.

-- to bring people to wait a -- -- -- approach to politics Bob peaceful politics.

And and -- the idea is simply that you vote for the party or the candidate that best reflects the -- of the kingdom of god you gonna shoot people you put.

What the issue is what the Democrats say when Republicans say then what god -- should you you organize them into into priority and -- you know how to vote.

But you don't ball purely on great you don't vote clearly on culture if you want to move the -- as close -- god you can get it so you find the best candidate party platform policies.

That does that.

The it unemployment rate for African Americans was at twelve point 1%.

Four years ago it is now fourteen.

Point 4%.

Under this president African Americans have not done as well.

Even as as they were doing for years ago is that an issue.

That Mitt Romney and the Republicans can and should use in trying to say may be you ought to give someone else a chance.

While -- and economics is the issue today and it is one of many issues -- -- the major issue in the state of Black America is something that we need to be very concerned about and that means that we we need to look at what the economic playing -- for both parties and how well they -- again with biblical principles -- god created man and he gave him great freedom he gave -- limited regulation only -- couldn't -- And then he gave him.

Are home great.

Limitations.

On judgment if he did not -- that one regulation so guard the Bible teaches limited government.

-- it felt government becomes the opportunity what family and church and civil government should do is promote.

The individual's capacity to maximize their potential and whenever you take that away from them -- take away their dignity and you remove the opportunity.

Very well said pastor Tony Evans is always a pleasure to talk to you and you've been a friend a long time and I thank you for being here by the -- some good news for our audience all of them are going to receive.

A copy of pastor -- book.

The kingdom man and you're gonna -- -- wherever really good -- your soul possess only kind of place it would.

Have doctor evans' book good to have you here -- -- be -- thank you very.
