The -- -- the federal government mostly in check during his eight years in office setting about 121000.

Workers in that time.

By contrast.

Jimmy Carter.

Added almost 100000.

Federal jobs in just four years.

During mr.

Obama's first three years in office the feds admit it.

About a 130000.

Employees more than ten times would Reagan added an eight years.

So you can say that mr.

Obama's philosophy is the exact opposite.

Of mr.

Reagan's.

But history shows President Reagan was successful in reviving the American economy so that's why mr.

Obama's policies -- a bit perplexing.

That was our -- Bill O'Reilly of course offering his -- comparison.

And how presidents Reagan and Obama reacted to serious economic challenges while in office.

-- Riley at -- -- emphasizing how both men -- the problems differently and therefore had varying degrees of success.

Obviously things have not gone exactly according to plan for the Obama administration when it comes to reviving this economy.

And for that reason -- Riley says the ghost of Ronald Reagan may be haunting President Obama.

Michael Reagan is a political consultant and chairman of the -- group and we've heard your dad's name mentioned so many times in his campaign and one of the reasons why.

Is because he also came in office in some very tough economic times.

And took over after a liberal Democrat had been had been governing and offered a very different approach to governing and one that did get us out.

Of a serious economic mess and so now more more folks like -- -- are saying.

Why wouldn't -- Obama be using your dad as a model.

-- it's just a lot about economics degree from Eureka College -- that little town in Illinois.

-- Reagan actually got.

His diploma in economics understood it immensely.

And I'm hearing more about Reagan from the Obama administration that we here at the dinner table to Reagan house.

It's amazing disappearing and and just see how many times my dad's name is mentioned but Bill O'Reilly is right but I think.

This what you have -- Barack Obama is he's tried to raise himself above.

My father of Kennedy above everybody that he is the greatest presidents cup river have these great turnaround.

I think this of them man who's been constantly mad at success.

In the United States American every place surge success he in fact talked down.

Did that success it will not follow the rules of success.

You know I learned growing up -- you probably get also if you wanna be successful talked a successful people and and do what they're doing and you to will be successful if it's I -- to reasonably successful around Barack Obama.

It's it's interesting when you look back at the speech is that your dad gave -- talk on that issue you know talked about success in America.

What a champion he was and not just for folks who wanted to move they move their way up -- up the ladder.

But for those who it may need it and holding them out as an example in trying to talk to people who.

Would like to be you like them talk them out of demonizing the successful folks in the rich folks in here is just.

A sample of that.

We have so many people -- can't -- -- fat man standing beside them and without coming to the conclusion that that man got that way by taking advantage of the Finland.

Well who.

But that was speech that speech you just play was a time for choosing known as.

Launched -- political career of Ronald Reagan people should go back and really listen NetSuite.

You can give that speech today just change some of the numbers around and you're there but today forty plus years later Megan.

The -- the Democrat party is still using the same look for they're still -- -- the rich.

For the por -- -- But like my father goes on to say in that speech you'd think after these many years that the government would give you some kind of score card.

How well they're doing at bringing people out of poverty and in fact more and more people -- going into poverty.

As Bill O'Reilly said the other night three point one million more people have now gone and -- -- ability.

Under this administration.

He creates 80000 jobs in June but 85000.

Go to disability while -- regulars creating sixteen.

Million jobs when he was -- president of the United States of America here.

-- that's not a lot about -- not penalizing success don't penalize successful achievement in this country.

Because that is what we are all about.

President Obama had a message on Monday we need to get the rich you know the super successful.

To paying their fair share he would say not trying to penalize anybody he's just trying to make the system.

More fair and and and -- some folks have pointed out that your dad.

After he lowered taxes significantly on the rich did wind up raising them a bit as well.

-- -- yes buddy Reagan took them from 7% down to 28%.

-- changes Internet.

As he went along but the reality of what was by lowering taxes he knew more money.

The Laffer Curve more money would come into the government.

-- -- -- the government doesn't spend all that money you end up paying down deficits and what have you but -- Reagan knew you didn't punish people for being successful.

This president -- you punish people for being successful.

And he's punishing the very people who are the job creators in this country -- -- -- -- if you live in New York out of the California.

-- 50000 dollars maybe a lot of money you're living in Butte Montana.

But if you're let me Los Angeles it's not a whole lot of money when you're having to pay the rent when you're having to pay for the outrageous fuel bills that -- fact pay here in California.

And so he wants to punish those people who own small businesses who create the jobs in this nation that we call the United States of America.

And now -- -- that that the cost of living in the big cities as it is really out of control means you get like people who look at her studio apartment and in and that -- can't get a studio -- studio apartment for like less than four grand a month something ridiculous like that but.

-- if some of his biggest contributors.

Have turned in their passports.

And of lefty and -- -- into America.

Because the onerous tax system in the United States American -- don't win the corporate side but also -- Barack Obama I think is looking more to Bill Clinton than he is to Ronald Reagan when it comes to the tax issue because when he was saying on Monday as.

I just want to returns to the tax rates of Bill Clinton the country was doing very well under Bill Clinton -- was you know imploding.

And that's all that's still a place I want to go too so it's really not that outrageous.

They -- not that not that outrageous for the -- -- -- people like creating jobs right now is this president everything is only -- a year.

Let's just do it for a year -- he gets reelected in November.

And gets sworn -- in 2013 do you really believe it 2014.

He won't take those bush tax cuts and say hey.

Forget it we're not gonna re -- per year -- he really cares about middle class really cares about America that make the bush tax cuts permanent for everybody.

Michael Reagan thank you share.
