So I want more than numbers it's 244 -- 185.

All Republicans voted yes to appeal Obama care but they were not alone five Democrats defected and sided with Republicans so what -- democratic leaders say about that.

They spoke with house minority whip Steny Hoyer a short time ago.

-- to see if there.

Good to be here when you -- OK I lost five votes today so that's probably I assume better than you might expect a certain brand Republicans expected -- -- What was certainly a lot about the Republicans thought that thought -- -- going to be a very large number of Democrats voted to repeal this bill they didn't do so because they know.

In their own districts the public likes a lot of the aspects of this bill.

There -- unsure about some but this bill's gonna prove to be a great benefit to.

Millions and millions of Americans who have insurance and we'll have the assurance.

Of access to quality and health care.

The fact that their children or themselves can't be precluded by preexisting conditions fix in the doughnut hole.

Making sure their kids if they can get a job could -- their policy to -- point six.

They like all these aspects and it's very after -- this is the thirty.

First vote we've had on repealing health care.

-- absolutely not one alternative offered by the Republicans.

The American people gonna see that what it is you don't have an alternative.

I can say a lot of people like get a lot of people don't like it and it isn't cheap and this is this thing is not free.

You know it's gonna cost somebody a significant amount of money and we haven't seen it play out seven -- a lot Americans really do not like it.

I think there are a lot of Americans who have apprehension about it until a lot of Americans who.

I have this apprehensions about it because.

Of the Republican.

Spin meisters.

But the latest poll I've seen the kinds of -- the 56% of Americans polled said look the the Supreme Court said it was constitution let's move on -- -- that's -- -- -- -- -- -- -- constitutional and whether it's good policy I don't know if something can be constitutional but email lousy idea.

You're right on that this is a good idea that's constitutional in my opinion and I think that's what the American public -- saying -- 56%.

They weren't saying okay it's constitution -- -- Look it's constitutional.

Let's move on let's make it work.

I think that's what they're saying to us.

Richard -- question and town and the taxes.

It if under the present plan taxes will go up.

For those who make 250000 dollars.

Or more a year -- it's cost an outcry by some saying that it's been effort says small business owners senate Democrats come back and say it's a very small.

-- -- How many Americans know who to believe on us.

Well I think the fact of the matter is that if you look at the a Clinton Era and which.

In your lifetime and mine and I'm a lot older than you are -- on stand that we had the best economy in this country seeing under the Clinton taxes.

Different time different worsening economy we didn't have those words going nine -- it was a very different -- global economy we didn't have such a heavy influence from here for the music.

I'm not -- -- decades to each other economically well.

You could certainly compare -- with the naysayers who said.

And in 1993 that we adopted that program the economy was gonna go into the tank deficit -- explode and unemployment would go off the charts none of that happened.

In fact what happened was we have a good economy you're right this is a different time a different economy which is why we are saying.

Everybody's 250000.

Taxable income for everybody all 100% of us.

The first 250000.

Will not see a tax increase but we have a deficit and debt problem and everybody understands that and it's a very serious issue for our country.

And people understand that.

Aren't going to bring that deficit down here's -- problem that this is the democratic idea the democratic idea it was a stimulus bill.

And and I and I don't know how you think but in many Americans are unemployed those eight point 2% -- unemployed and that's probably a low number.

Are not quite as optimistic about that money that was spent that was not successfully 80000 jobs in the month the -- So if the Democrats have not been -- exploding with success with the economy why should they think they're so Smart about this -- -- Well let me let me say that we lost 8181000.

Jobs in January -- -- -- -- the last month of the Bush Administration.

80000 is not nearly enough I'm disappointed the president is just one of my 80000 but -- very frankly it's 880000.

Better.

Then at first I.

I'm not Cynthia if you -- fit on -- job cuts if you're going to be persuaded have a job it doesn't matter whether 500000 jobs were great if you don't have a job.

If you have a job it's not a recession to depression if your house is underwater and you can't afford your mortgage it's a depression not a recession in the -- economy's not recovering for you.

I agree -- that.

But when you look at the comparison of the eight million jobs that were lost in the Bush Administration.

And the 4000004.

Point four million that have been gain over last 28 months.

That's a stark.

Improvement and a success for the Recovery Act enough know are we disappointed that we haven't done more yes -- Europe adversely -- again.

Yes it is but the fact of the matter is we have made progress but not enough.
