Mr.
Shelton they've -- on the program tonight appreciated very much.
Thank you very much.
I understand that -- -- was.
-- -- roundly booed at the NAACP we play the tape last night but the cheers he got may have been from those who were -- what do you know about that.
Well I can say that there would it turns out there work group of people do actually brought -- -- the campaign.
As a matter of fact.
They asked this campaign and -- -- get paid to -- in the in the past.
To provide for them -- credential.
Actually -- it went whenever you have.
So it's important yes -- you presidential candidate -- president the vice president spit the bit attorney general.
Usually -- actually beef up security yeah.
Along with that credential cannot be provided for everyone coming and all the -- -- and so forth.
And in this -- you're probably campaign by -- in the past.
Actually provide -- credentials for a number of African American Republicans there were coming income.
I mean there were other running campaign of the Obama campaign.
If you're sell so how many were bus how many how many Romney people -- -- -- -- Okay and do you think the applause the cheers he got the positive response -- mostly most -- -- no I wouldn't say that.
I would say that they -- content which.
The issue is that we're not supported by the NAACP were raised by mr.
Robbins and in the old days since it was -- that -- -- report.
Do you think he purposely went to the NAACP.
And gave the same speech he gives any other group.
So we can stand up and say look I stood up the NAACP.
-- likely they booed me and they go to his base and say look at those people -- -- -- -- I think it's it's quite possible plausible.
-- -- I'm not interpret this campaign and we we track we are not proceed to -- to -- A memorandum for that fact.
But quite frankly we have had older Republican candidates -- -- NAACP convention.
We have Mr.
Bush.
You know and then 2000.
Bit mr.
McCain -- he ran in 2000 and an eight.
Is 2004.
And and with the other members of the Republican Party that talked about this is that we're not supported by the end Opel -- What was there anything different about the way Romney.
Thought that was the problem and that's why it's plausible.
Usually when you speak to group you do some research where they on the issues.
You at least BP and at the point that you know they Austria kind of an opportunity to share the concerns.
-- actually hopefully.
Court votes.
But the common and someone who went to mr.
-- it is the -- if you raise these issues around what he called obamacare.
-- suspect in that area.
And quite frankly offered on the call.
Obama care and they say that he wants to repeal it but somehow not recognize -- the in the African American community.
30%.
A bill without health insurance or African American.
And we only make up 12% of the population.
And it's what he called Obama care and -- to repeal.
The from the all the the seven million African Americans -- -- -- terrible.
It's inside it will probably offered alternative.
Methods as that he wants to save money which he actually fair.
People to repeal these.
Programs that are not helpful a lot to say -- but it got the principal risk of -- -- lie.
Mr.
general -- -- question I thought that that's I would Bill O'Reilly tonight and I thought.
He had one good question which was to do otherwise would that be pandering.
What -- but not a fact if you got a better idea let's -- It is protests in the -- know that Americans don't deserve health care -- Indeed what he's saying it's an -- but for the benefit of actually cutting.
Expenditures for the federal government so it -- save money for the wealthiest Americans bought increasing taxes for the middle class.
Please visit come out and say that's what you want to do but quite frankly -- and the thing is that lead to it is this.
-- -- -- -- -- he doesn't it -- to have a bit -- before that's important.
We want to have the kind of -- that the NAACP.
What can that the ballpark and compact and bring that I anticipate it's public want to improve your community.
If he had no interest.
An improvement -- our communities and coordinate its older patient just says no try and addiction.
Well but any I think have a bigger problem saying no doesn't look better that he shows up.
Well it depends not certainly it's -- It -- -- concerned about.
The academic community and -- want to represent the African American community as well.
If you want to solve the problem those who live and our communities are all over the country if you want to address the concerns about public school.
They're quite frankly feel notes in -- -- and says he has a better idea the other guy they want to be president.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- But he would also compensate the keeper it will support spent quite put like these.
Yeah but -- Mitt Romney I think his biggest offense was when he spoke today.
Maybe was after the in -- -- yesterday to a private group to fund raising group he -- I had the privilege of speaking -- they -- the NAACP.
Again in the same speech -- giving you wanna give speeches different speeches different people.
When I made some to be rid of obamacare they weren't happy I didn't get the -- -- like he's bragging about it.
-- is I want people.
To know what I stand fortified understands what they want go vote for someone else that's just fine.
That's kind of dismissive.
Well -- it did it actually is but clearly.
He wasn't -- -- win over app.
As a better plan.
And certainly America has a problem.
-- -- -- up 47 million.
That don't have health care.
Define themselves and all within and dangerous and -- -- position of a -- get their help kill within -- so bad we have to go into the emergency room.
That cost us even more as taxpayers still don't prepare for the kids acted included in the Affordable Care Act.
But for some reason he believed what -- talking about how we improve the mayor there you're talking about how we -- market.
For the well its premiere by cutting our expenditures.
Even at that was -- period citizens' lives.
I've -- when.
He went on to say to this group I hope people understand this your friends who like Obama care remind them of this if they want more stuff from the government.
Tell on the go vote for the other guy more free stuff -- number one Obama cares and free stuff.
Just like Romney care was in free stuff his argument of the time was everybody should pay into the system and is he saying that those who support and go and visit in our members of the NAACP.
Are the people who -- free stuff.
What it is you and I both know a Supreme Court law citizen would -- -- on all -- off topic here.
And the issues that was being considered by the Supreme Court has -- every American would have to pay but health care -- be fine.
That's not free stuff but when he says these the people -- free stuff is he saying the NAACP.
Black people want free stuff.
Because there's very -- kind of -- stereo type that we -- during the campaign earlier.
Sciences department heard from Rick Santorum saying somehow or another African American vote that they have.
A welfare check -- a paycheck and Newt Gingrich actually resonating -- on the same issue.
Again people don't know and so and playing against stereotypes.
You and I know that -- -- welfare.
-- -- -- -- -- Beat -- amount of food stamp a person and get our spam is pretty -- Comes up to about four dollars and they'll -- prepared Tuesday.
What dollars and 33 cents -- -- -- -- -- and break anybody's that somehow America would not would rather retreat for 33 days.
Deliberately.
-- his -- much.
But they're in the -- -- step further or began talking about in terms of you can't agree trust and pray that you wanted to come to the NAACP.
Central that we should be fighting -- open light jobs.
Rather than food stamp it again that's the point.
The number one it should -- NAACP.
Is actually supporting our jobs bill.
That our friends that their friends on Capitol Hill all the mobile.
-- jobs bill that they actually applied to their allotment from the very beginning of the Obama administration.
-- -- -- -- -- -- What it -- number one policy objective of the -- and eleventh congress.
That you're in -- without Barack Obama was elected in office bitch McConnell -- Could defeat Barack Obama.
-- out try to figure out at that point.
How they want to beat Barack Obama when we faced them -- it's crisis.
Education crisis.
-- health care crisis.
And many many other problems not society but all they wanna do -- politics.
Race.
You think you -- -- are racist.
You know -- I don't want to read the public mind there are more hand them out with with some kind of terminology like that but but -- I think -- -- what is an agenda.
Is what's more important look at what they're trying to do and it comes during your own conclusion after whether -- actually meet the mantle of being racist.
The -- so what told me that the definition -- races.
What's racial prejudice.
Power.
Back there's been anyone listen -- one -- very well determine whether.
But mr.
Obama.
Speaks at all that this is there and -- grounded for the -- whether it's the NAACP.
-- due -- -- -- -- Throughout this process wasn't as you rate for the points.
Up being prejudicial racially prejudicial.
And indeed the -- also add to that book that you -- its power to implement those prejudicial.
Program.
So good I think that it had to decide for themselves whether indeed -- right -- itself to -- point.
I think Jesus and different eyes and I think you know and I think he's got a -- -- the tin -- about this stuff and the other hand Rush Limbaugh.
Who as you know is made a number of statements.
And he's an entertainer more than anything else in my view who uses as fodder.
This kind of stuff here's what he had to say today.
-- Romney had polio double Leo CP what they wanted to -- he would have said.
Under a Romney administration we will give even more blacks on food stamps -- President Obama ahead.
-- and if -- heard that before mr.
Shelton but that's what Limbaugh assistant.
Well -- -- and again he's playing into the ignorance and prejudices.
Of follow.
Both super it will believed it indeed.
The majority is built to receive food stamps -- a country that somehow African Americans you know -- -- this -- that's true.
Triple -- was -- offered actually that can make sure that more Americans are able to receive food stamps but quite frankly -- they'll start to death.
But the majority of food stamp recipients are also the majority population of our country which happened to be white.
There but I wonder if when Limbaugh says something like that.
Want your reaction is or what the organization's reaction is because he's branding.
The organization you're eager group here group's board meeting NAACP.
Has.
A group of people who want food stamps.
-- we're supposed to be entertaining or playing to -- base -- -- just downright racist.
When this faith and by is that you are playing a racial crisis Ukraine -- pre existing precedent for of African Americans.
There were created by bill -- quite frankly are racist.
And if mr.
Limbaugh besides -- -- -- -- -- his radio show.
To be able perpetuate.
Those -- -- misinformation.
About what it's simply not true what he's saying about bill with people to have is an accurate.
Again -- we know the majority food stamp recipients.
Our white America but you know -- -- -- place for the same pitcher that Rick Santorum played two during the primaries in Iowa.
But Santorum goes into an all White House party acquitted -- partners and -- -- and it tells them that he is going to fight.
To make sure -- the black people start looking at things differently and start talking about.
-- -- -- to make sure that black people.
Are able to get off food stamps -- realized in the state of Iowa all it's not -- -- they're effective they're African American.
And 83% apply but you go to the questions that -- Why would but one life.
-- like -- probably play it to -- saying.
Stereo type the same stereotypes that -- Newt Gingrich if you want to come to the NAACP.
And healthy to fight for jobs since there.
They'll again I have long -- its refusal -- -- people.
-- weaker for you racially prejudicial and I'm not sure if somehow -- that.
African Americans thought of hard work with everyone else African Americans don't have the same -- -- -- want to be the -- here -- was.
-- have health care.
All the education afraid secure place the -- and everything else is very much a part of the American injury it's amazing to be in the year 2000 and how well we've stood up people strictly legal frame.
Old couples I'll.
-- -- -- -- It was a show I appreciate your written they appreciate -- telling your tonight and talented -- -- running it's about a giving it your point of view.
Thank you for your time sir could you run -- -- thanks very.
