Imagine what it's like to be a kid and being pressured to diet just to fit -- with the media's appearance of an image of what you should look like.

Research finds that 80% of all ten year old girls in this country have indicted at least once in their lives doctor -- that seems very young.

Very shocking Jamie and 80% of little girls that age also have a feeling about -- body image that they're fat.

We're talking about.

Ten million people ten million girls in the United States have eating disorders and only one million -- so this is a problem that's somewhat gender specific and I think it occurs.

First of all because we put the wrong things in the icebox wrong things in the refrigerator so you drink a lot of soda pop.

You drink candy eat too much ice cream to gain weight then you start looking at the TV and you see somebody that's perfect.

You look at a magazine you see a celebrity they looked perfect there eighteen years old you were ten years all I wanna be like them I wanna be like them.

And then -- drastically diet to try to get there and I think the problem starts -- us with parents because we're not giving our kids the right choices to begin with.

But we can't we can't control the media and what our kids say -- CN and here are -- -- writing historical we have to be conscious of this and we have to not promote dieting and our young people but try to get them to gradually and the other key is exercise -- -- always talking about it here on the show.

If we could get our young kids out there exercise -- Out -- for our day maybe they would have a more healthy -- -- at the same time I don't talk to somebody there are teenagers getting gastric bypass surgery.

Well what do you think about that I don't think it's really healthy.

I think every kid deserves a chance and I think if there are morbidly obese due to genetics or otherwise they deserve it.

We have something Dick bigger question is Jamie how do we get there you have to -- of the country that are suffering from obesity 17% of teenagers are really obese.

How did we get there and I think his point is well taken.

If we are completely -- turning -- robots with -- iphones and -- -- -- and we're not spending enough time with our kids and they're basically just.

Eating all these so there's a sugar and next thing you know they're -- going for the -- it's it's not healthy so I think that they take home messages.

We don't need to necessarily.

Blame media we need to blame ourself we've got to spend all the time.

Absolutely as parents.

What -- a nine year old a ten year old know what they see is on the cover of the magazine as they see these beautiful Hollywood but that's -- the reality none of these models in my opinion are really having healthy diet and to have a job.

-- -- You don't the nine year old doesn't have a you know we just have to feed them healthy stuff.

And we're all guilty of it because of the job and everything that we have spent quality because of time -- -- kid.

Family dinner which we talk about my diet and we got to move -- in his shortest yet you make such an important point this.

Is not exercise its apparent -- right for the funds group for the book thank you so much reminding folks to --
