Fox News Miller playwright now former Vice President Dick Cheney making a rare appearance today on Capitol Hill.

He's accepting an invitation from top house Republicans he will be there to discuss.

The looming cuts to the defense budget.

With the GOP leaders hundreds of billions of dollars will be automatically slashed.

From our defense budget come the end of the year he wants to stop that from happening -- always -- -- basis.

As Republicans here on Capitol Hill expect to hit this issue -- of the impact of our national security if these cuts were allowed to take.

Cannot at this point -- it -- Well it is interesting because the Defense Secretary Leon Panetta for one is quite worried about these cuts going into effect but other Democrats.

We want to take a look at the automatic cuts on the domestic side of spending.

Here's a key senator Patty Murray on that.

-- -- also not going to allowed just the defense cuts to be replaced without addressing the domestic spending cuts that would be devastating to the middle class.

None of the automatic cuts are good policy they were packaged together in a bipartisan fashion.

To get both sides to the table and they will be replaced are not.

As a package.

Expect to hear plenty more about these cuts this week as it becomes a hot topic here on Capitol Hill we've heard from a variety of defense contractors very worried about whether or not they -- going to have their employees today or whether they're -- have to lay them off and so this is certainly a hot topic.

With those cuts looming.
