A fugitive wanted for the murder of his ex girlfriend tried to steal a commercial jets.

Buddy crashed it and then shot himself to death.

That's the word from officials in southern Utah where it happened here's a picture of the suspect cops say they started searching -- on Friday after his ex girlfriend turned up dead in Colorado Springs.

Fast forward to today.

A spokesman for the city of Saint George a couple of hours northeast of Las Vegas.

Says the suspect arrived at that city's airport overnight he apparently.

-- rug over a barbed wire fence.

The spokesman says the men boarded this fifty passenger SkyWest.

Passenger jet.

And got it moving.

But the plane apparently never made it to the air ultimately crashed into some cars in the airport parking lot.

We're told its engines were still running when a police officer approach that jet and found the suspect inside with a gunshot wound to the hit.

No that's -- thing nobody knew she have a police suspected something was up because at 1 o'clock in the morning a police officer was doing his final perimeter check at the airport.

And he noticed a motorcycle parked near the gate the engine on the bike was still warm the officer then began searching the area.

But by that time the suspect had already started the plane.

And pulled away from the jet bridge it was as he was going forward that he clipped the left wing on the jet bridge that he scraped the terminal.

And drove directly through a security gate before crashing into those cars in the parking lot.

But -- -- passenger jet disappears.

That is a big time concern -- This case somebody could jump the fence just like he did.

But like I said this isn't the type of a plane.

This isn't just small little charter point this is a large.

Well police believe that Brian -- stabbed his longtime girlfriend to death inside her apartment on Friday afternoon and then fled this was all just one day.

On charges that he was harassing the girlfriend police then immediately notified sky -- airlines to.

He did and we are now learning.
