-- story from the mideast -- -- tensions with Iran a possibly taking a serious turn for the worst.

Again we just got this video in the last hour from Israeli TV it is of a deadly bombing of a bus carrying Israeli tourists in Bulgaria.

At least four people were killed.

And Israel's prime minister now says quote all signs point to a -- in this attack.

And he is warning that his country will have a strong response Israel will react strongly to Iran's terror that is a quote.

In the words of our guest this could be setting the table for a major showdown now between Iran and Israel.

Ambassador John Bolton is here with us now he's a former US ambassador to the United Nations and a Fox News contributor ambassador Bolton.

This is.

This this is Israel claiming and a -- a terror attack on Bulgarian soil because Israelis are dead.

What evidence is there that Iran was pulling the strings here well I think you have to.

To believe that Israeli prime minister Netanyahu -- choosing his words very carefully and that he spoke only after his government.

Had gotten what they believe to be conclusive evidence that Iran was responsible for this attack.

There have been other attacks on Israelis around the world Thailand India in.

Recent months that have also been blamed on.

Iran but they haven't had this devastating effect on innocent civilians.

And I think when Netanyahu says it's Iran and not Hezbollah.

And that we were strong we will respond strongly.

There's every indication that could well mean an Israeli attack on Iran directly.

Is this and it is this related at all to the nuclear facilities -- -- -- some -- gonna be parlayed somehow owing to a strike.

-- justification for a strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.

Well I think Israel should have done something on the nuclear facilities long ago it doesn't sound to me at this moment like that's what Netanyahu has in mind but.

If he had said has a lot that might imply retaliation by Israel against Hezbollah and Lebanon he did not that's why his words I think have considerable meaning because if there's an Israeli strike against Iran.

Even against simply Revolutionary Guards facilities but not the nuclear program.

Then you could have a direct response by Iran against Israel and we could really be into what put that in historical perspective for us.

Well Israel has a very clear policy going back decades that it does not allow terrorist attacks to go on answer.

And in fact with with this response by Netanyahu he's very clearly sank.

They're not just honest -- respond.

Proportionally to what the -- terrorist attack in Bulgaria was but it could well beyond that going after several facilities of the Revolutionary Guards.

And that's why I think this is that this is so significant I really have to you really have to underline this twice this is a very.

Major development escalation in the region.

It will obviously impact the United States -- all the forces we have been building up.

In the Persian gulf I would think they would be put on alert very very quickly.

While there are two things that you mention that that Iran or Hezbollah has been guilty of other.

Attacks we believe against Israel.

Citizens in other nations and then this is according to the two I think it was the Associated Press saying that.

All the indications pointed toward has -- -- or Iran.

And they said that there was at the arrest of -- Hezbollah operative in Cyprus in recent days and he was suspected of preparing a similar attack.

So at least maybe you've got has -- you point out it Netanyahu saying Iran directly.

What if there is this tit for tat that goes on between Iran in Israel.

You know from today forward.

Is that.

-- what is that what -- what do we do.

Well I think Israel takes the position legitimately that attacks on its innocent civilians whether in Bulgaria or Israel or any.

Where else -- by -- state like Iran is an act of war.

So they would say they're retaliation is self defense and I think that's right.

The the Hezbollah as a surrogate for Iran anyway and one could have said even if it were Hezbollah attack it was instigated by Iran.

That's why I think Netanyahu saying Iran specifically rather than has -- removes the ambiguity.

And almost certainly points to some Israeli action against Iran directly.

While want to tell our viewers just getting.

Very brief information and saying that there White House spokesman Jay Carney has come out saying that we stand with Israel in today's briefing.

But not much more than that we'll try to get -- more details for you on exactly what the White House is saying about this.

But again this is from the prime minister of Israel this is in -- in terror attack that is spreading across the world.

Israel will react strongly to Iran's.

Terror.
