-- alert now the report from Jerusalem now the Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu moments ago now pointing the finger at Hezbollah.
As the group behind the attack an Israeli tourists yesterday in Bulgaria no official claim of responsibility.
For that blast that killed eight people Iran state TV rejects accusations that came out yesterday that they are behind a homicide bombing.
This man on surveillance video though is a piece of information.
That investigators are going through and there's a lot more about to talk about your former.
CIA officer senior fellow national security affairs at The Heritage Foundation and Peter good morning to you.
The morning there is the thought that this is where Israel will take its revenge against.
Iran do you believe that.
Well I think there's a shadow war already going on bill.
I mean you look at what's going on over Iran's nuclear program the the cyber attacks that.
The assassinations.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- I don't not at this point bill I don't believe so but if Israel were to attack Iran's nuclear facilities I think that will.
But I think Hezbollah will be struck by Israeli forces when they figure out.
Which faction which part of it and the right target so southern Lebanon will -- it -- hit it to explain the difference there -- when Benjamin Netanyahu.
In the Israeli officials yesterday blame Iran and now -- Hezbollah what's the distinction there Peter.
Well other allies you know obviously Iran as it is the world's most active state sponsor terrorism.
One of its side its sponsor one of the groups it sponsors -- Hezbollah.
Which is a she.
Group in in the eleven on it's a political group it's a terrorist group it's a militia.
And remember just a few years ago I think you have some experience with this that Israel Hezbollah fought a war.
So I mean these are allies.
Of they Hezbollah is an ally of Iran just as hamas' well there's a resolution that was just voted on just this minute.
At the united nations security council on hearing that Russia and China have veto that resolution so that goes nowhere.
Bit of a paper tigers -- talked about last hour Peter there's a report now that the bomber was carrying a fake ID from the state of Michigan.
Put that together you know.
Well it's very interesting I mean if it is if it is -- but you know there is a large Lebanese and I asked for in Michigan.
They came at the turn of the censure of the -- of the yet twentieth century actually to work in places like Ford Motor Co.
so there are is say large Lebanese group.
Hezbollah is -- went -- -- so I don't know the origins of this individual but it makes it very interesting so it wouldn't surprise me that this individual might to have some ties into into the United States or be carrying a fake ID -- cured that helped him perhaps get a double Gary got to perpetrate this.
Terrible tragedy.
That is one major issue is we want your -- here's another one this specifically deals with Syria because US now be -- -- How long -- Syria had this reported stockpile of chemical weapons and where did -- Come from what can we report on this that is solid -- Well bill is serious had to chemical weapons going back into the 1970s.
They got help from the places like Egypt the Soviet Union they've had help from Iran in fact they may they probably have the world's who they may have the world's largest stockpile of chemical weapons and assuredly the world's largest is stockpiled chemical weapons in the Middle East.
And that includes things like blistering agents mustard gas as well as very dangerous nerve agent such as -- and DX room.
And there's concern that this has been -- recently some reports suggest there might be 45 different locations throughout the country.
I don't know how you keep all that secure in the midst of all the the turmoil we have watched for sixteen months.
Where is -- -- now.
And what is he doing what's his reaction here.
Well you know that you we need to have a declaratory policy on this bill saying that the use of chemical weapons against the people of Syria will not be tolerated.
We need to have our intelligence forces and that of our allies focused on where these chemical weapons have gone where they may end up we don't want them the ball in the -- of terrorists.
Such as Hezbollah or al-Qaeda.
And -- you know we need to be ready have plans ready to deal with that in case there is -- a -- this government we want to make sure that those chemical weapons are secured and -- not to able to be spread around to people we wouldn't -- -- have their hands on.
Here just to confirm this now Russian China vetoed this resolution.
Threatening sanctions against Syria I mentioned that the US to push for this and apparently will not go through way to really expected though did -- and rushes in the way here.
No absolutely and you know diplomacy spelling bill people continue to die.
As I wrote about last week and a New York Post we need to actually exert a lot more pressure you know we're using Covert operations recruiting people to defect from the regime.
I you know there's a lot of things that we can do short of putting American boots on the ground to get this regime to fall but diplomacy has -- what 1617 months now so you know I'm not surprised at all to what we do know that Vladimir -- -- Barack Obama had a conversation yesterday more reporting on that throughout the day.
Peter thank you Peter -- there in Washington backs that.
