At last night on this very program the country heard for the very first time George Zimmermann the man that is charged with second degree murder for the shooting death of trade on -- Now there are a few -- for my sit down interview with Zimmerman that are causing quite a -- especially one clip in particular watch this.
Is there anything you regret.
Do you regret getting out of the car to follow -- on that night.
No sir do you -- that you you had a gun that -- Huntsman do you feel you wouldn't be here for this interview if you didn't have become.
You feel you would not be here I feel that it will solve God's plan and for me to second guess that judges.
Is there anything you might do differently.
In retrospect of the time has passed a little bit.
Had earlier today on FOX & Friends straight on Martin's parents responded to what George Zimmermann told me listen -- -- us.
I want stairway to stick -- by saying that it was -- -- that he murdered our child.
And I really don't understand what god he warships because not saying god that I worship.
-- And why would god have him to -- then turned on -- but teenager.
I mean it just makes no sense so.
What -- is -- about what I mean.
That's just that's that's -- lives to save it that was God's plan that he took -- child's life.
And joining me now with reaction is one of the Martin family attorneys -- parks.
-- welcome back to program -- -- being with us.
Good afternoon they'll act I noticed that the media did wrong with that particular phrase God's plan if you listen to the entire quote -- -- said before that.
I was asking him if he thought he would be here -- on earth.
And he said no sir.
He said he didn't think you'd be here and he gives an explanation.
In context does it sound different -- we also talked about praying for the for the Martin family every day.
Well I think that you can to get to separate -- two statements together I think for him didn't -- God's plan to this situation.
Certainly was not in God's plan for an armed armed -- to be killed in this situation so.
That's what made -- so difficult for him that he got talent tries to downplay it is being God's plan when it was his expected -- -- life.
But before he said God's plan he said he was I asked them do you think you would be here.
No sir maybe he thought the right what what -- -- saying is he thought he'd be dead.
Well anyway we regardless of that big goes back to the fact that had he stayed in the car.
None of this ever happens he takes it upon himself one of the problems that trailer pairs of all we've had about this situation.
Georgia never Texas husband for his action when you ask you about that your great having the god of your great -- -- the car get a grip in it that.
Those are things that he did so -- of the things that brought about what happened later that night.
Let me go back and and and George Zimmerman giving his version.
Last night in this interview with a lot of detail.
Of what he says happened and how -- -- confronted him.
And struck him and immediately broke his nose -- what you did well let me remind you about this part of the interview from last night.
And -- -- said to him.
I don't have a problem exists and you -- for your -- I reached for as I was saying -- I don't have a problem and at that point.
He just got hit he was already within -- -- from me and that was that the punch in the nose broken nose just.
Right there and you went immediately moved out of the ground.
Don't remember I went immediately to the crown -- -- -- -- -- the crown but I ended up on the ground and that -- point you said that you wanted.
Can you wanted to get a stop him from hitting your head on the cement this is that we told the police just from OK so after that first hit.
What happened next.
He started -- my head into these concrete sidewalk.
Com I was since he broke my nose styles -- started yelling for help.
Com supposed to disoriented.
And he -- -- slammed my head into the concrete.
Which is -- the lacerations kit for just.
You said it was like your head was going to explode was a comment that -- given to the place for some.
Continue to punch -- in the head how many times would you estimate -- -- -- him.
More than a dozen.
I wasn't there and you weren't there what do you make of his version of the the the events that night.
-- I understand his explanation.
But I think that we have always go back to the fact.
Had he stayed in the car -- we have -- also remember.
Zelman is in the vehicle and he's traveling -- -- is a pedestrian he's walking right did did two different speeds I'm going on here.
And so here if he never gets out of the vehicle they never had missing Keller so for him to make trade went up to me to perpetrate a well but I -- Let me ask you disasters in terms of getting -- guilty verdict.
In this case.
Listening to his version.
Looking at the injuries -- incurred he did have a broken nose he did have lacerations in the back of his head.
It's that this is just evidence that we know that might be other evidence -- comes up that has not been made.
The public at this point.
There was that one eyewitness from that night that said that he did -- -- bomb on top of mr.
-- -- and that he was punching him.
-- with all that we do know -- up to this point it may be more evidence more information coming out but with all of that put together.
How do you get a second degree murder conviction.
Help bring me to how you get there.
Tell me what you -- artists -- -- -- -- you certainly have to argue that when he sultry blonde he call him a -- for whatever reason.
And Emmett Till and that's what -- don't know anything about it without him seeing him doing anything wrong it's all those things play.
Part of him profile and it.
And so he follows trademark it but he is that the -- -- I was talking to the dispatcher.
He was talking to the desperate to but it all goes to his mindset and what did the one thing about -- George -- he never like to talk about all the events that happen.
Prior to the altercation all those things are very important because it goes to his it hit his -- -- and -- most -- -- don't.
It is very busy evidence that George Zimmer is not allow the -- himself well let me ask you recorded real time.
It because it's not illegal to get out of the car or if you think somebody suspicious whether it was right or wrong in this case.
But again I go back to build the one eyewitness that said he saw a trademark on top of mr.
The injuries that we know that took place including the broken nose.
He's now consistently to the police and others given that same story about what happened -- that night and the next day where reenacted it.
Bring me from that point evidence before jury.
And then he tells a story about the gun how do you get a guilty verdict if in fact he's claiming that trade mom.
Attacked him confronted him and struck him first.
How do you get there.
Well I think.
Most people most reasonable people Sunnis in this case is that trademark was -- -- in -- And he was confronted by George George -- got a history confronted him.
-- Vonn won did nothing whatsoever he was provoked it so -- tray of -- followed he doesn't know this guy.
And all in this guys look at -- and and in the suspicious why so any war especially once you realized that this gas arm.
For him to fight for his life and you know you're talking about his -- -- broken how people called Biden a man with a -- millimeter.
You have -- -- by the -- with a nine millimeter.
But -- but it -- -- eyewitness said the trade mom was on top by him.
Well he should have been on top of it this guy was stalking him in this guy's arm he should've been -- and that -- but I mean that's.
And even if even as he walked in and -- it may even if he's walking back to his car and if it's gotten I don't know what happened I was in there.
But it but the eyewitness said that if if in fact George Zimmerman what he's saying is true -- -- confronted him and came up to him.
You know you don't think that's problematic in terms of getting a conviction -- Out of this problem -- For this reason and you know we could sit -- and try to listen to George -- was nice statement about but the great thing that we have in this case.
Is that not all went from audio.
Where he's is he tells did disparities fall -- the person I tried to explain to what Credo it'll be up to a trial affected decide whether they believe -- and -- mr.
parks thank you once again become backup program we appreciated.
