We also some new information coming in on the gunman at his background are Trace Gallagher has been following this story all morning he joins us live from our West Coast -- -- morning -- -- LT you know last month -- four year old James Holmes was a medical student at University of Colorado studying neuroscience and for some reason about a month ago he just dropped out.

Without explanation -- that we are waiting for a statement from the university momentarily we get that will read it to you we have also confirmed.

That he got his undergraduate degree in neuroscience from the University of California Riverside about seventy miles.

From where we are right now the question in those would be does he have some kind of experience with chemicals or explosives through his training in college.

And in post graduate school now the question also becomes what ties to -- have to weapons right he had four guns on him we're talking about a semiautomatic rifle.

-- shotgun and two handguns we know that he has no concealed carry weapon.

He has no hunting license he has no fishing license and no tied to the military yet he was armed to the -- he was also found to have inside his apartment buckets.

And buckets of ammunition.

But again no ties to the military that Adam was talking about his apartment that apartment complex he just moved into.

In -- the apartment complex manager says he hadn't been there but a couple weeks.

And as far as the booby traps what the police and the firefighters in the bomb squad are so concerned about now -- Is what's in those bottles and how flammable it might be.

They've got the fire hoses at the ready in case this explodes but the first thing they want to do is they'll wanna send a robot in to see -- they can get a sample to find out exactly what the liquid is inside and again making sure those trip wires don't go because it was set up.

That when police arrived at his apartment sometime.

After the shooting this morning that they would burst in the door and that was set to be the trigger for this bomb.

His parents we have learned live in San Diego his mother is still home his father is in wrote to Colorado right now.

To meet with the sun the parents have issued a statement saying and I'm quoting here.

Our hearts go out to those who were involved in this tragedy and to the families and friends of those involved we asked that the media respect our privacy during this difficult time.

Our family is cooperating with authorities in both San Diego and Aurora Colorado we are still trying to process this information.

And we appreciate that people will respect our privacy so the parents say they are cooperating in the investigation.

And despite the fact that the suspect police say gave them information.

About bombs being at his apartment.

That he is clammed up he is no longer cooperating with police formal charges have not yet been filed we expect him to appear in court for the first time.
