It's been just over a week now since we all learned of the terrible news reports out of Aurora Colorado describing -- shooting massacre and a late night showing of the new Batman movie.

News organizations scrambled moving reporters and producers to the scene in order to report the horrific details.

But not everyone got it right.

I want to go to Brian Ross -- to try even looking -- -- CNN -- came home she found something.

They might be significant others and Jim Holmes Aurora Colorado page.

On the high -- Tea Party site as well.

Talking about him joining the Tea Party last year and now we don't know because of the same -- homes lose and Jim -- -- -- -- Colorado.

That was Brian Ross ABC's investigative reporter talking to George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America of course it was not be Jim Holmes Jim.

On a scale of one to five is -- five is completely.

Lacking in journalistic credibility.

Where would you put this well.

Sixth.

And he and here's why not only do they get it on not only did Brian Ross -- that great -- a tool known as Google of the finest.

Jim Holmes.

But then.

They didn't they put Brian Ross on that night on ABC world news in and that -- 6:30 PM.

And he -- completely different story about the shooting or something that never politics they did apologize during the -- but they they -- not only the viewers but also mr.

Holmes that the innocent one.

A full complete with -- On the air this goes in that category.

But there are so eager to put up the Tea Party thing in there too good -- check they couldn't wait and they didn't even apology because nobody at ABC stop and think Judy hey maybe we ought to check this out before we go to air with.

I think that's an interesting question about this -- the -- everybody makes mistakes back.

Where -- the editors sending -- of the people Hussein maybe we ought not to put that on any parent to we found out whether or not there's another Jim -- Which their wives whose email was overflowing and whose phone was ringing off the hook and he never got an apology from -- -- -- After the Gabby Giffords says shooting there was some effort to -- That event on the Tea Party and political victory all and Sarah Palin in the ads she had taken out.

Yeah all of which was -- yeah.

Well it's it's it's taught completely distasteful for -- this horrible strategy and -- people are jumping to try to say oh let's blame -- on.

The Tea Party or political party.

You know at the same time you've had bright -- coming out and criticizing this and -- saying all by the way.

We think this -- -- your registered Democrat could sell -- right that there is doing the exact same thing.

So I just think it would be nice if we just take this out of the discussion and it you know even if -- -- is registered Democrat what's the implication or armaments department with the implication that that's why they -- -- that's absurd about it but -- -- saying it deprived parts website is not ABC news.

-- like Brian Ross have been around -- business forever you think the first rule and an innocent like this when there's so much inherently uncertain information floating around you don't.

Going to Google and just throw something up on the air automatically when you hit upon it.

There's only really one explanation for this kind of mistake it's an answer on thinking content that's a fuses a mainstream media.

For the Tea Party.

Well and and then it went on I mean there was the controversy at ABC over.

The mother's statement to an ABC producer about whether the sun was the right person ABC implied that she somehow.

New.

That her -- was capable.

Doing this or have been -- -- they apparently woke.

Mr.

Holmes is mother up out of a dead sleep and asked are you the mother of -- -- -- and she said this whatever he's exactly she's had who knows.

I mean once you lose trusted news organization -- reasons we involvement saying editors and -- and the -- testing process and how do you know for sure what happened there not an additional incident about issue of whether or not Holmes is in jail cell spitting.

The prison guards ABC has said that to eat and -- -- can't trust him anymore Welling.

You know I didn't keep bringing up ABC that they keep apparently making these mistakes -- that yeah they said that he was spitting on guard and wearing a mask in the -- even with the Denver ABC station contradicted.

-- report right it it gets to be -- kind of NBC problem when they were having their editorial gaffes.

You know you have to ask what's going on here why is nobody checking what is it about this story because on other stories.

-- she doesn't do so.

What happened in this case I think.

Some journalism student somewhere is going to have one heck of a masters -- this it is it's a very competitive business -- journalism we all wanna be first.

But you have to get it right.

Yet one that's why it's surprising you were saying how did this get on with with Brian Ross I got Brian Ross really runs things after the people right I mean and it took in a situation like that he probably is able to rule and just go right on the air with that because.

He's a very well established journalists I think people trust and so it's hard to understand how -- -- like this.

Happens how he would even think that this you know that he wouldn't think -- wanna make this service is right and.

And why doesn't George Stephanopoulos say -- wait a minute.

I mean like Jim Holmes is pretty common and we -- take a step back here you'd think -- and again -- I don't even understand.

The logic the chain of logic from Tea Party.

To shooting movie theaters I mean and that this is not a major plank of the Tea Party ideology you know violence of movie theaters.

So again it can it's only a product of the really distorted and basically hateful view.

And we might have supposed.

Brian Ross about gonna George Stephanopoulos and Alice and the year that the shooter had something to do with the Obama campaign to that they -- Open that on the -- immediately an objection if it was a -- finalist is called -- that's project with numbers -- in the -- affiliate they would that's on the much more than they did in the.
