A new Republican push to help US businesses struggling with government regulation.

-- look at this chart released by the Republican staff that congressional joint economic committee.

Follow that if you can for just a moment shows the -- of rules and regulations.

But a lot of companies have to navigate house Republicans just passing a bill freezing new regulations until the unemployment numbers go down but.

Democrats say the sluggish economy not regulations are hurting small business is much more.

Bill is not expected to survive the senate which is controlled by Democrats to -- Murdoch -- -- Fox News contributor.

Nationally syndicated columnist.

Glad you're here -- thanks for my children thanks for me here that chart could make your eyes go you hold a reasonable postured as it does it does and -- now -- now I'm hungry infant OK so here's the line from your piece that jumped out at me in between New Year's Day at 2012.

And last Friday so about a week ago American businesses.

Have grappled with 2127.

New right.

Just these are new regulations -- the old regulations.

This is and when that I find kind of amazing.

The National Labor Relations Board ruled that micro unions can exist within a larger workforce -- for example Bergdorf Goodman's which is a big department sorts few blocks from here.

Rather than just do with the entire staff they now have a separate union for the women's shoes departments in on the third fourth and fifth floor.

To the measure that story thinking OK I got to talk to one guy -- are presenting the whole staff that's bad enough but now you've got some reps and shoot when the shoe department I guess to be a men's shoe department union.

And then maybe a tight apartment union and this is just complete bird's nest and this is one company -- see this multiplied all across the US economy who was worse defender when it comes to.

Coming up with creating new regulations.

I think it's quite hard pick one I think off -- had based -- things have been reading the EPA's very bad BP is very very -- -- this they came up with an amazing regulation.

Which involves Michael -- -- -- -- ethanol and the required to oil refineries are required to blend in certain that -- the stuff six point six million gallons last year.

Only one problem it doesn't exist.

It exists the laboratory but you can't buy it and so the oil companies that look we look to -- but we can't buy it any more than we couldn't hire a hundred leper cons -- -- -- Has alleviated -- -- -- find it doesn't -- that they did this it gratifying six point eight million dollars because you didn't blend in the substance that doesn't exist commercial it's not commercially available.

And I think in the oil industry they see this is a problem but if you hear this kind of the story -- thinking I want expand my story wanted to start a business expand my factory.

Here but people washing behaving this kind of an attitude -- think you know the deck is stacked against me and they're not gonna start that business from just gonna keep everything -- is.

Put my money aside hope that the better management comes in next year.

That's -- I want to ask you about for business owners when you have the big oil companies but they -- have small business owners who were just trying to.

Try to make a living trying to eke out -- in a living with whatever they're doing.

What do these regulations do for them.

It makes life very difficult a lot of these regulations are confusing a lot of them -- self contradictory.

This case goes back a few years but just also covered this sausage factory of all things I think in Maryland.

And one regulation said you need you to shop or drives that people don't slide out hurt themselves -- -- regulations that you need to hose it down every hour to keep any.

Duster particles getting -- the sausage so if the guy.

Hosed down his.

Shop for people to be in violation one regulation he kept the -- he'd be in violation another one.

Any sort of tried to guess whether OSHA would show up or the USDA and kind of either -- on the floor not depending on who thought was coming and you know Democrats say that a lack of regulations particularly in the banking industry is what got our economy into this mess.

In the first place.

Are there such a good are there such -- thing as good.

Regulations I think there's some simple regulations everyone can understand their very nice and clean and simple and straightforward people who follow the probably makes some sense in some cases.

But you look at some like obamacare which is 2800 pages in the bill and thousands and thousands more pages of additional regulations -- keep pouring out.

And according to the US chamber of commerce 73% of small business owners -- that there had trouble hiring and growing the companies because of Obama care.

And so you get these these completely bizarre and an unfathomable -- regulations it's very hard for people in business to.

To respond any kind of sensible positive way so we mentioned the Republican plan which would probably not go anywhere because of partisan politics in Washington.

But if some of these regulations were to be rolled back to we have any -- any information that this would actually help.

The unemployment rate would it would get us -- you get Americans back to work if a lot of companies and businesses out there didn't have to deal.

With these burdensome regulation I think -- couple things well when is the Small Business Administration says that every these regulations cost 101000 dollars per point per year.

If you've got ten employees -- saving 100000 dollars may mean you know can afford to hire somebody.

Us that's one thing the other is I think the overall tone of Washington.

You know you didn't build that all the same class warfare rhetoric you don't get the sense that the government is on your side trying to help -- get the sense that the Uncle -- mr.

adversary.

So I think just as the change in tone from wash it would help it would give.

But this is people and a sense that maybe Washington DC -- plotting against the but perhaps is playing for them.
