When you -- today about a controversial immigration policy launched launched by the Obama administration.
Leaders of the nation's top Border Patrol union's last week claimed that illegal immigrants are now exploiting -- -- change to put into place by President Obama.
And they say.
That border enforcement is becoming almost nonexistent.
Jordan a cut in the third is president of the national Border Patrol union he represents about 171000.
Folks he was part.
But this announcement George welcome.
Thank you thank for -- -- me so this the clay use it you know are pretty shocking when you look at what you end and another gentleman who was with you.
Chris crane who's the president of the national immigration and customs enforcement counsel.
You came in said.
That's.
Them the discretion that's now being -- -- prosecutorial discretion.
Is now based solely on an individual's claims and the and that the quote I think from Chris crane was our orders are if an alien says.
They went to high school then let them go.
Our officers have been told.
There's no burden for the alien to prove anything.
Is that true.
According to Chris.
Crane and I spoke with a -- at length about this it is true.
The reason for that is we have yet to receive any written guidelines are instructions.
On how to deal with this at this point.
Well.
To the agents.
That if an illegal immigrants suspected tells them I'm in high school.
Or on the young illegal immigrant who might qualify for deferred deportation you are not to arrest them.
Correct yeah we will more than likely have to bring the man to the station and then turn them over to ice.
Until we get any time of further instructions.
Well but how is that unusual I mean it isn't that how is -- how was before president Obama's announcement as well.
Now both before this if they were in this country illegally.
Then we were to take the -- we're gonna -- -- records check and based on that would make a determination how we were gonna handle that person.
And so what's -- exactly they handing them over ice part.
While the fact that -- at the end of the day they're going to be receiving a free pass if they make this allegation.
They fall under the guidelines.
Of this prosecutorial discretion.
OK but I want and that's what I'm trying to get at George because this is an important distinction at the press conference when when you spoke publicly.
It sounded like it because President Obama said look.
I'm gonna add grant deferred deportation to a large number of young illegal is illegal immigrants brought here by the parents when they are under sixteen.
Under certain circumstances that they you know got a high school they're gonna get enroll in college -- -- the military.
They have to apply will administratively look at it if they qualify were given to your work permit possibly.
You guys were saying the other day.
Those decisions are being made upon the point of -- -- we're being told when you meet the illegal immigrant it suspected if he says -- in high school whatever.
Let them -- that was -- that was the quote from Chris crane.
Our orders are brilliant says they went to high school -- let them go out that's different.
Correct -- those -- the instructions that Chris and the employees of ice have received.
We have yet to receive any type of instructions yeah.
George is it is it that you object to President -- -- you know -- he did this himself and an administrative.
It through that his Department of Homeland Security or is it that you say.
It's and it's now somehow gone beyond that.
The presidential directive.
Now I I think the whole point behind this is the president took it upon himself.
To grant a whole class of individuals a free pass to this country.
He -- through his administration through ice has responded by saying.
That the number of illegal immigrants who have been deported under his administration is at record levels may and this is from ice they put out these numbers they said look back in 2007.
Two -- 91000 were deported.
Into in 2011 it was 396000.
More than a 100000 more which they say is a record.
And thus there are.
Effort to prioritize the deportation of only that you know worst criminals along the illegal immigrants makes -- your thoughts.
-- I mean I can't speak price for their management.
I would like to look at the numbers up there looking at.
I know that this agency in the past has been very creative.
And how they report numbers.
What do you believe is happening along the border when it what is your first hand experience.
What what's happening is -- in -- more.
Southern position we're closer to the fence line we're trying to shut down certain -- goers.
But in the process that allows other areas to be wide open.
And what do you think you need to solve that.
Unless you can see an agent to your left in to your right.
The border will never be sealed we need more employer sanctions the majority of the folks have come over -- looking for work.
Georgia -- third thank you sir.
Thank you -- best a coming up new information confer.
