For New York's state sheriffs association institute summer camp times are tough but you never know it from all the smiles on all those campers -- -- -- fun.
Running solely on charitable donations hosting economically disadvantaged children for years camp donations have flat -- since the recession.

Chris this is exactly the kind of kid you've been -- into camp for what thirty years 36 years the -- and open fantastic.
And for the most part all the kids who are selected are selected by various sheriffs throughout New York State.
And given their families.
Economic situation kids who otherwise wouldn't go to camp.
Otherwise wouldn't go to camp and other the kids who would get a positive influence or interacting with deputy sheriffs -- one of the examples isn't in the each kid has a different story is the child who.
Has a negative view toward law enforcement because maybe their father's been locked up.
It's -- brother since future and then they go to camp.

And then on the last day Saturday we have a little awards ceremony and -- deputy -- -- -- uniforms and they can't leave their deputies.

Because of the great uncertainty.
People who have been very generous in the past and we've got a graphic that shows the amount of money people have given that the -- through the years.
But started out okay and back in 2007.
But it is it's diminished ever sense why.
Well I think that.
The recession in the economy is influenced.
Giving because.
People have to have confidence.
In the economy.
To spend money and particularly to donated to charities and we're down 30% and you are.
What what what what could be Obama administration do to help you.
What I think.
Anyone involved in raising terrible money.
Needs.
An economy.
That people believe in that are confident.
And that the future's bright.
You mean.
I'm not sure where there I hope we're getting there.
Yeah are you it is -- the worry that you might have to scale back.
Won't people who would invite as many kids is Nicole next year.
Well what we've done since.
You know -- -- money became tight is we've made sure we were operational.
We've taken.
Money and make sure that all the -- -- 140 kids are -- going because in a recession the kids the ones that need it more than themselves.
