I think -- God's judgment.

On our nation when we shake our -- -- him and say you know we know that continues as to what constitutes a marriage.

And I pray God's mercy.

Our generation that has such a -- probable arrogant attitude to think that we would.

The audacity.

To try to redefine what marriage is all about.

Chief -- Dan Cathy two weeks ago saying that he supports in his restaurant supports.

Traditional marriage -- that set off a firestorm in cities like Chicago.

And Boston Washington DC.

Of those mayors saying that that restaurant is not welcome Nicholas.

Chick -- -- values are not your cup of values.

To not respectful.

Of our residents our neighbors and our family members.

And if you're gonna be part of the Chicago community you should reflect the Chicago values.

Well today thousands and thousands of people around the country showed up -- check the latest.

We had pictures of drive -- going around the block a couple of times we headlines in malls -- chick filet is that went out and around looping around.

Supporting.

This organization.

And supporting this restaurant and really making a political statement we're about this let's bring in the panel -- I think you simply astonishing here in Rahm Emanuel.

Defining according to his political ideas who is welcome and who is not welcome in Chicago.

But everybody has a right to a boycott to boycott whatever he wants -- to organize a boycott it's a free country.

But what you get government doing it would have the powers of police and taxation.

Imposing it's a -- views.

On somebody excluding -- punishing them.

Not for a commission of a crime which is what government supposed to do but because of the expression of the view that is thought police.

That's political repression it really is no other word for that and think about this what is done it Dan -- say in his opposition to gay marriage.

That is different.

That doesn't is it in congruent with the position that president of the United States.

Barack Obama held six months ago on the same issue he was opposed to gay marriage.

Does that mean -- for the first three months of the Obama.

Presidency was a bigot who was deserving of ostracism and social punishment.

And remember Rahm Emanuel as his chief of staff at the beginning and that was also on the position also supportive of the position.

A Ding against gay marriage I think this is has an astonishing overreach and abuse of power.

Byron now you have the DC mayor Vincent Gray -- send out a tweet.

Put the hash tag hate chicken.

-- you have people all over the country reacting one way or another.

It seems like you've got a lot of attention.

Well it did and I think that we saw we saw a lot of chick -- values that that particular restaurant -- -- the country I think the governmental part of this.

It's just about over the Thomas Menino -- mayor of Boston and Rahm Emmanuel are are backing down from there positions the ACLU who has come out.

In favor of chick filet and the limited issue of a business license saying that.

A government should not deny a business license to someone because they don't like they're social views.

So I think that that is is pretty much over because we've seen an enormous amount.

Of support for exactly what -- -- -- by the way.

There are a lot of businesses whose owners have social views ahead of Amazon.com.

Founder just donated two and a half million dollars to support.

Gay marriage and Washington state of course Ben and Jerry's ice cream famous for for having all sorts of political position so it's not that unusual.

-- just as a result in something like this before.

-- one and this comes with the backdrop of Democrats.

For the national convention in Charlotte.

Thinking about and probably adding support of gay marriage as a plank to their convention platform.

Is that politically risky for Democrats considering what they're seeing today in the fallout from this story.

Now I don't think it's too politically risky clearly the democratic base is not.

Alarmed.

By having gay marriage in the platform I think it.

Would antagonize people who were in line -- chick -- today but I think most those people were making a political statement as you said earlier Brett.

And in line with governor Mike Huckabee and others talk show radio show host who have.

Come out and said that you know as a political matter they support -- and they wanna make their support -- Personally I gotta tell you something I -- a big free speech advocate I have been punished for saying the wrong thing in my life and career.

And I just think that mr.

-- as -- write this express his point of view.

I think that when you at this time in America where you have such massive family breakdown in and so many kids who don't have families.

It's an important statement also say you support family structure of any kind that you're not condemning families were -- grand mom may be raising a child.

Or you know -- cousin or whatever.

I think when he's just spoke about marriage in the traditional sense I think that's what antagonize people like Rahm Emanuel.

Who felt that he was being very limited very rigid in his point of view but.

I don't care coverage it is government has no role in telling particularly where they can establish based on the values of their own -- think that was wrong and I think that's why.

Americans.

And more more elected -- officials now are rejecting that point of view.

Okay will continue to follow -- panel as always thank you very much from Washington.
