And let's meet JR Johnson he's the founder and CEO of Trippi.

The Twitter handle is -- used -- And he's joining us from our LA bureau good dad here's our.

-- -- -- -- from me okay this is a social website why college should be first about.

I get -- -- well it's.

It is travel want people thinking about trips in want to think about and and and any fun and happy -- so we are going through picking out names for this.

Trippi is so close the happy and puppy in things like that it is may have a lot of -- Are right so essentially it's a social travel website he also have a mobile app that makes it really easy.

To collect and -- your travel ideas when you go on a vacation.

You go back and you can log and show all your pictures and make comments and things like that and that essentially how works.

Yeah you can do that but even -- before that even when you're still on the dreaming fair and so.

If you think about it most of us are planning our next trip one way or another worth thinking about travel in.

From.

God I need to get out of this licences.

I need a vacation I can be city in my does -- thinking this is I just need to go somewhere all the way exam taken a trip to New York next week where should I stay what should I do and where should I ERB.

Is -- is able to take you also are.

I know I was -- -- totally personalize this because I'm planning a trip my my boat and I could live on both -- -- each coast he lives in California pilot here.

And so we're -- Minneapolis.

I know nothing about Minneapolis except for Lauren Green one of our anchors is from -- -- but that's pretty much as I know that they have a good music scene so if I want to -- -- Trippi what what I'm going to find out what should I do.

Well what you're able -- you're able to go on -- -- you're able to see what everybody else's.

Within your social graph as well as beyond your social -- your friends what they're saying about Minneapolis so when you go there you can browse all of the places -- places and stay.

And things you should do while you're there.

And I can one of our we have some high profile advisors in the company -- -- ms.

-- -- and from the food channel and that you have really well respected -- he is from Minneapolis and he's got a lot of great content on Minneapolis already.

In Trippi so when you get there you can see where Andrew thinks that you should -- and we should do earlier there.

-- as I just mentioned my -- owns a winery and one of the things that he always gets frustrated about -- You know and kids it's a wonderful place -- -- always -- great reviews on these you know the web that's where you can get a little reviews.

But I would sit there and I say well how do we know that some in your competitors and things like that.

Aren't gonna write in and say bad things about her or tell -- to go to give them the wrong places.

How do you know this -- kind of like an honor system is there any way that you can sort of make sure that.

That restaurants aren't going in talking about themselves you know under the guise of acting like -- I'm just a regular person who visited this restaurant.

Well that's big difference between -- in a lot of the legacy travel kind of review sites that have been out there you don't know who you can trust and you don't know how relevant those reviews are -- because even if you think you can trust them you don't know how similar that person is fused so my trip we were really focus on the social aspect.

You're getting information from your friends these are people that you know these are people that you can trust and you know how relevant all of their ideas that they're sharing with you actually are for your -- -- so why did you wanted to -- that.

It's less than a year old it's pretty new this is my second troubled company us -- one way back in 1999 and ended up selling it through Expedia.

In 2008 and as part of we're under non compete where we can do anything else in the travel space for three years that non compete expired.

About a year ago so we started working on Trippi about points a trip is a very very new new company new website and so far so good.

You sold through -- nice job that -- I don't against India is it but I know I'm not mass -- but -- that was looks like -- the mobile app tells a little bit about that.

-- part about a when your browsing through trip in your figuring out where you wanna take your next trip what you wanna do while you're there.

Everything that you do on the web site.

Translates right through to either your iPad -- or to your iPhone out depending on which device you like he is you've got all of that information literally in the palm of your head while you're taking that trip.

That's information all the stuff that you saved.

But also you get all of your friends information right there with you in the cool part is -- using the iPhone.

You can upload your photos while you're on that trip and that goes right back your friends that helped you plan the trip and actually -- -- great.

-- -- -- I have to say I think it's a pretty cool job that you have because you know besides being CEO of this company.

I would think this -- a pretty decent tax write off for you to go on these wonderful vacations you know to test out saying this.

You know for your website.

That's the that's probably the most common -- perception of being in this space that somehow because I'm in the travel business that.

I'm going around -- having all this luxurious vacations but that's not that's not actually the truth unfortunately.

Yeah I know I get it CEOs have they actually have to work at it once again be a Twitter handle is at used -- be.

JR Johnson is the founder and CEF.

The sounds great I'm not I'm gonna actually I had ever to this website after I get off because I did I definitely need some information on Minneapolis I appreciate it thanks for joining us today from the beautiful city of everyday.

Another place and I spent a lot of time.
