And continuing now with my exclusive interview with former Vice President Dick Cheney.
When you talk about.
You talk about you believe he will be a one term president we've also said he is an unmitigated disaster for this country and we're talking about preparedness -- vice president.
Was he prepared for this child now by the standards.
That I would apply I think if you look at that -- Obama's background.
He -- a couple of terms -- distinguished terms in the Illinois State Senate missed a lot of votes.
Who ran for the House of Representatives who -- and going to be then ran for senator.
From Illinois and his opponent withdrew part -- to the race -- because somebody leaked some information Obama.
-- -- no wonder so I don't know who came out of Chicago and so there was I sworn testimony came as -- vice presidents do this way their centers.
And then he disappeared for two years never heard anything out Molly is a member of the six -- and -- -- on compressed and that was sort of the sum total of his.
And he obviously ran a good campaign was able to defeat Hillary Clinton it's not a an easy task.
But I was.
You know if I were to apply the standards and I've talked about he wanted to running mate Barack Obama didn't meet that test -- -- think Governor Palin has had far more executive experience than Barack Obama institutions governor for -- -- and mayor prior.
Almost on a daily basis including this very week the president.
Goes out there and attacks.
Your administration the Bush Administration.
We inherited we inherited.
-- liberals trying to get mad because he claims kiosks ATM machine tsunamis earthquakes.
And I use the term it almost to this point it's like president cry -- and but when you hero police.
Instances where he's blaming your administration for his troubles three and a half years and what's your reaction of that.
Well my reaction is getting anything to talk about on turned to his own record.
He's had now almost four years.
In the White House to deal with the major issues that we face as a nation and he has -- -- a classic example in the Simpson Bowles number the commission -- set up partly with the support.
And Al Simpson was on my closest friends and -- scrambles a Democrat went together.
Put together a good package everybody can find something and -- they disagree with but it was a great starting point.
And them Obama ignored it.
You know refuse to deal with -- I was afraid -- going to be critical of him I suppose from a political standpoint.
But he did not make that decision that needed to be made which it should have gone on the table and this is a proposal must sit -- let's start talking about.
Certainly one of the two or three most important issues we face long term.
Is the debt crisis in America and where that's going to take us over the cliff.
If in fact we don't address those basic fundamental problems he has not addressed it -- never addressed him.
Basically taken a pass on what I think was one of -- most report responsibilities.
When he got elected in 2000 and it.
July of 2008.
He said about George Bush.
That he is unpatriotic and -- responsible for four trillion dollars in new debt over eight years.
He said George Bush and his administration.
Took -- credit card to the bank of China in the name of our kids and grandkids.
And you know.
Has spent a central Bolivia he's accumulated over five trillion.
In three and a half years but.
So at this level you're talking about take in the country over the cliff -- seriously mean -- Greece to you you know what do you foresee if we can no.
If it wouldn't get reelected and continue with the same policies what do you say.
Well and I think -- just gonna see significantly added that we're already approaching the point where -- more -- -- is what 7080% of our national income.
And that's gonna continue to grow -- dramatic levels.
Given the fact that he has not been part of trying to do go after -- address.
Now there's no question but what the debt did increase on -- watch it can't deny -- -- on the other hand.
We also had the crisis of 9/11 3000 Americans.
And continuing threat to the safety and security United States and for those reasons.
We undertook the activities in the policies we didn't cost money no question about it.
Well on the other hand we thought and the relative scheme of things it was very very important to -- address those issues.
Now I think it's very important at this stage to to come back on this basic fundamental proposition -- -- what drives today here entitlements.
Defense is only a small portion of it only a small portion of the budget.
We've already agreed to cut 500 billion roughly out of bed in the budget that's gonna start in October.
And then they want to take out what this -- to another 500 million and effects it's going to be devastating to our military.
Capabilities and he appears to be prepared just simply let that happen and does not join in an effort.
For example -- that's been led by the house Republicans are going to pass legislation it's also sequester problem.
Any tax increase -- without any further cuts in defense.
It's of the private -- doing fine to business line that now or what is repeating you didn't build that might somebody else did somebody else did that.
You've had time -- now really studied Barack Obama for four years.
What do you think you know about him now or believe about -- -- that he didn't believe four years ago terms of his ideology philosophy governing philosophy what.
I think it was I -- getting back in that timeframe of course we know we're on our way out of office about running for anything in the 2008.
And what I thought was you know if he wins this is going to be sort of traditional typical.
Liberal certainly more liberal I would like.
That's not what it's -- that it's it's way over there to the left one of the things that's been most of my need for me history this new book that's out.
Deals through this whole question of competence and Britain by incline that used to -- the New York Times.
It's called the amateur.
And it goes into great detail -- the whole number of different areas in terms of its philosophy and why believes what he did and how he got there and and how he's managed or failed to manage in the White House and I think what's happened and -- -- my own convictions here's a man.
Who doesn't believe and a lot of those things that I think most Americans do believe.
Terms about Strom.
International role for the United States of America we've got all kinds of and developments underway in the Middle East and he's -- for the exits and our friends and allies over there Israel saudis are United Arab Emirates lot of countries over there that -- to the United States for leadership especially with the security certain.
And what they see is the United States headed over the hill -- pulling out as fast as we can't.
I think -- expected the economy is the whole thing was in captured him in that statement the other day and a small business.
You know if you've got a small business you didn't build somebody else.
I've got friends of the you know and that's been there a success story -- their lives as one of the great success stories of America that we can do that sort of thing in the United States.
And Barack Obama doesn't appreciate it and understand it or have any sympathy whatsoever he thinks everything that happens that's good in the country comes from the government and -- just had grown.
