The White House's counterterrorism advisor John Brennan was very forceful earlier this week in -- speech listen to what he said.
There have been some devastating weeks -- not gonna point to any of them so I don't want to validate any of the things that are out there.
But it's unconscionable what has gone out.
-- was also -- -- so the people are pointing fingers at the White House staff saying that it could have come from a number of different places.
But many people are saying.
Including representative Peter King as head of the house homeland security's committee that it could have only come from the White House because it's a very tight -- -- blister that opened the -- buyer what do think about.
Well it it is centrist thing that the his friend and now admits that these leaks were devastating and he he doesn't have to talk about -- but we know.
That that the leak on on the cyber warfare that were conducting against Iran to try to slow down their nuclear program I mean that's -- -- it was incredibly detailed.
An incredibly damaging as far as the White House is concerned I think they're trying to.
To make a fine distinction here saying.
Well it it could have been leaked by people who were at White House meetings but they weren't the White House staff -- if you're not in in a White House meeting.
And a party administration and you're discussing.
Highly highly secret information that -- is a problem Giricek -- and also allowed that the president has admonished his staff.
Not to leak information and feels that anybody who's been involved in the leak of highly classified information should be prosecuted president doing enough -- Well I guess got to wait for the results the investigation I do think there's a kind of an irony here where on the one hand -- is saying.
It's devastating we -- an investigation but -- -- in White House is involved that's kind of pre judging the matter a little bit let's wait and see.
But the findings are got to admit I'm always and a one of the -- this is a journalist -- pro week.
As an American I'm -- a little worried about the national security -- consequences of some of these especially the ones that are involved.
The secret program cyber war with Iran and in and things that had been held -- close.
For -- I should ask you if somebody came to you and and said here's this information about this cyber war than somebody else called you up -- and hold it please.
What would your reaction.
All you asked -- that on live television talk.
The -- and it's actually an easy one that's called the boss it is the Washington Post and other newspapers have routinely.
You know consulted with.
The government before making decisions whether or not to publish classified material so that I don't -- but that's been done in the past -- and the problem and did.
Charles the DOJ is looking into this doesn't need to be special prosecutor looking.
The DOJ is looking into -- I'm sure it's going to be a thorough inquiry and a problem one.
And I'm sure -- -- -- come on before election day of course this is all a ruse so that all questions are answered by saying there's an investigation going on.
So we can't talk about it we will hear about it in December at which point.
Obama will be passed the total have.
Afghanistan is is another sore point after an Afghan soldier earlier today police officer actually.
Killed three American service members 21 such attacks during the course of this year Byron what what book and the Pentagon do about this today.
There's not a lot they can do and in march of this year Gallup poll asked people do you do you think the United States should accelerate.
It scheduled to leave for Afghanistan 50% of people said -- should accelerated.
And there most of the rest so that we should at least stick to the scheduled to get out the end of 2014.
This kind of stuff these these these.
Killer attacks fire so called allies are only going to increase.
The number of people who think we should get out now.
That these were special forces operators -- they have an awful lot of experience of this there were lured into were trapped by a police officer obviously they got to the point.
Where they really trusted this -- and then he turned around pulled the -- home -- real remember the case of the CIA bring in somebody they thought was an informant of -- who blew up.
The suicide bomb book it's -- the Afghan army security forces -- thoroughly infiltrated.
By the Taliban and other enemies -- United States we seem to be helpless to do something.
About it and I gotta say it it.
And makes when sympathize with those people on the pole and so should we even -- Charleston to do this because you want to build a bond of trust you wanna allow them to take the lead you wanna work hand in hand with them.
And then certain people turn around and -- -- for wanting to do.
Well that's a question we got us commander in chief.
He's the one who tripled the number of troops he's -- one or of the surge which of course inevitably increase our casualties and you never hear from him on the subject.
Our men are being shot our objective of handing it over obviously in jeopardy.
Morale is deeply affected when you shock -- suppose that I -- and then then the commander in chief is a well.
What do one more equipment in the lightning round which is gonna middle -- you're gonna have to keep it fairly short have been asked a lot of questions today -- filling in for Chris Wallace.
Who's leading the the top of the the -- when it comes to that the vice presidential nominee Byron if it's got the inside -- Romney has been extremely extremely good about keeping this secret I continue to think it's a going to be right -- -- Rob Portman.
But I think one thing to say about this as -- Romney's kind of lost control the public discussion of all this he's now under a lot of pressure from all sorts of competing voices.
Who want their guys shot.
I think the sooner he wraps this up -- better and I got -- say I've always thought likely to be -- -- -- at this point.
He's sort everybody's second choice -- -- -- -- seconds it was I used to try to read people's minds for a living.
It was -- psychiatry -- -- retirement.
But hundred writes I just just just just you thought hero we're gonna -- -- all right on a -- run lash out if Romney was hinting something yesterday.
When you describe the attributes the most appropriate.
Person that that description would fit.
Would be Paul -- And you said Rob Portman less than I was with him.
It was about a month that's why I quit psychiatry at the -- -- gentlemen great to see it thanks so much for coming in tonight every weekend.
That's it for the battle to stay tuned for -- --
