We're back.

-- -- selection of Paul Ryan from Wisconsin.

As Mitt Romney's VP selection now from Ed Henry this morning.

The Obama campaign will not make any on the record statements until the selection is made official by the Romney camp but Ed Henry repeating reporting this from a senior Democrat.

The Democrats will then.

Attempt to paint Ryan as someone who will do anything to protects.

Tax cuts for the wealthy back again now would Dick Morris Dick.

I would have thought their first inclination would have been the go after Medicare what does it tell you.

That tax cuts for the wealthy is where they start their attack on Paul Ryan has a VP -- Well that's their stride that's what -- mid stride -- doing I think that pivot very sharply and make it about Medicare.

I think that one of the things that we have to realize about Paul Ryan is he probably is one of the most truthful politicians there -- This -- says what he thinks and he doesn't lie he doesn't for -- he comes right out and says.

And that's both -- good thing in a bad thing.

And we gonna be watching that during the campaign.

One of the things that troubles me about him is that as I understand the most recent Ryan budget.

Continues the 500 billion dollar Medicare cut.

That was in obamacare and now he says -- may be cutting it but I'm leaving the money in Medicare.

To give you medical benefits further down the road.

But.

-- Romney has that issue that 500 billion cut.

To defend against the charge that he's gonna cripple Medicare and make -- a voucher system.

Ryan needs to come Hugh Romney on that rather than -- Romney to Ryan.

I think that the Democrats though are going to do the old Medicare Social Security scared act.

And I think that Ryan will substantively discussed this analyze it review it and do I think -- rather good job of defending.

And make clear that it's necessary to do these kinds of things to preserve the length of the history of the program.

And not to terminated in five or ten years.

And I think that Ryan it's not so much that he's obsessed with the cutting the budget he's obsessed with debt.

He understands that this country faces.

A gigantic problem in ten years when the current debt becomes even greater.

And he's talked to me about his view that that it would really be the end of America as we know it.

And I think that you really getting someone here who is a -- focused candidate who can make the national debt and spending in the borrowing.

The overwhelming issue of the campaign.

And I hope that Romney -- Ryan do that.

Americans will be I walked away from a meeting with him right after 2010.

Totally changed in my understanding.

Of the depth of the dead issue in the danger it poses this country.

And -- is really the cause of the economic malaise where it.

I didn't really understand that going into that room I hope Ryan says this to the American people as articulately is he has to mean.

You understand debate preparation very well Dick when when you see him.

Represented Ryan.

Go head to head -- Joseph Biden what do you envision.

In that debate I see only -- difference and I see and energy difference I see a lot of differences what differences do you -- Well there's an intelligence difference and intellect.

This guy is a staggering and -- and what.

Joseph Biden is OK but he's no he's no great big brain.

I think you're Ryan will cut into pieces that debate.

I think it's one of the great things now I'm not sure that that debate will have much to do with the outcome of the election.

I think Sarah Palin really roundly one heard debate.

With -- and of course it didn't have much impact on the election.

But I do feel bad that this is a guy who absolutely can hold the zone I think that really.

This is a -- presidential candidate.

I think that he's got so much to say he's so articulate and saying it.

And he is so controversial and the media will cover and so much.

That he really in effect gives you two candidates not just one in a way that vice presidential candidates traditionally do not.

And the ability -- that way to calling it America's comeback team I think it's very fortuitous comment you you make he would take that come -- team.

They're calling -- You have to really go back to the days of Kennedy and Johnson.

-- to see a ticket where both halves of that are on display is in effect potential president.

And I think that that that's an enormous assets here at.
