President Obama and governor Romney are spending millions of campaign.
But rather on campaign advertising but a new poll shows.
It may all be in -- 90% of voters think they know enough about the president in 69% of voters say they know enough about governor Romney.
Have voters already made up their minds radio host mark Davis and Alan Colmes join me now for more on that.
Gentlemen good to see if thanks for joining us marbles are with you have already have bank and very made up their minds.
Well a lot of people have and I think alum I will agree that whether it's this year four years ago four years before that almost everybody makes up their mind by now already you're either a Democrat or Republican you're either liberal or conservative they got that five or ten or 15% were undecided who were in the middle.
And that's where the battle will be fought and -- enormously pleased to see.
But a lot of those independent voters that that President Obama won fair and square four years ago are gone this time they have no interest in coming back and repeating that mistake.
A lot Allen are -- are they gone.
And now not all -- but really it's not just about all the independent voters it's about the swing states it's about the electoral vote.
It all boils down of the electoral vote not even the popular vote.
Don't even beyond.
Just a play appealing to a small sliver of the electorate it's about -- small sliver of states that we know we're not red or blue but could be but are really purple and go either way.
So that's really what it's all about and so it's those people in those states that really gonna make the difference.
And that's why it's so much money is being focused on so.
Little of an -- here's anybody boiled it down to how much dollar per person is being spent and when it comes independent voters.
Bonuses is astronomical it's obviously because since I let my state of Texas this just -- Romney's going to win it Merrill -- -- Massachusetts this just yet Obama's gonna win out.
But Allen is right if you go to Florida to go higher you -- Pennsylvania go to Colorado go to Nevada.
Of the amount per vote in those states because that's where all the money's gonna go -- probably -- to spend a lot of money in taxes he's gonna win it already so it's a lot of money for a few -- but it it could turn the tide.
So the fact is this is not even a national campaign it's really a localized campaign of the states that mark just mentioned and -- so to spend money nationally.
As as -- -- Texas is going to be -- I'm in New York it's -- -- be blue new -- gonna be blue so that's really where the election resides.
And who are the people who are undecided at this point one wonders how anybody.
Can be understood.
Has fared -- in there and.
Or they're too great to be on the side there are two ways to be undecided want this to be sort of part of the mushy middle to be non ideological think that well you know maybe -- like obamacare but he seems like a nice man.
Maybe Romney's business acumen is what we need the -- the generally.
On ideological -- the other undecided voter is the person who decided to it -- to roll the -- with Obama for years ago.
And we decided that was a mistake it made like that -- back.
That's not a small number of people so those are the folks who fall into that.
Inevitably -- website that -- is the undecided -- who said I really like a real conservative they're not you throw the Romney I mean they're gonna set in my hands I might as well stick with what -- got because I don't think Romney is the guy who misrepresents the -- the right -- so.
You've got that that -- had a little is that.
Let let me just tell you -- that that -- those that do those people exist yes they do since -- -- ascendancy to Santorum people -- Gingrich people even some of the Ron -- people.
They now know there's only one way to beat this president it's with Mitt Romney and they will be on -- this moment little taste of being -- -- as a -- -- -- on their heads.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- To make a gay marriage part of its platform wise decision or on -- I'll start with -- -- -- -- -- that wasn't what that is the that is the way this the people who don't agree with -- -- on the wrong side of history state after state.
Is affirming gay marriage that is ultimately what's -- -- be the law of the land at some point.
That is the way we're moving forward.
So they might as well put their chips on that because that really is the way this country is going right bullet that let's take a look at a poll -- L on recently asked -- and now let's take a look at this full right now.
People who favor gay marriage 48% total opposed.
44% it's little bit different -- -- -- strongly favored and strongly opposed but market.
It it's it's not necessarily gravitating in in a movement towards you know it's a bit of a friend and I here's here's the things that state after state is actually saying no to -- there are some who say yes and that's fine and Allen's upcoming book which I'll -- says -- the liberals -- on August 28 I think that I do -- that I -- -- friends my -- I do -- -- the liberals for making gay marriage a sacrament in their party I love it I love -- of that and -- thank.
That cause people to rise up and -- tomorrow we -- going to allow the scriptural view of marriage to at least be welcome in the marketplace.
And if the Democratic Convention wants to hang a lot of its -- on gay marriage.
Please do it -- -- really isn't any Escobar got very well.
Let me ask -- a question about that because we saw this huge turnout on Thursday at these chick fil -- all of our country.
-- the company issued a statement.
In the midst of all that -- -- record day of business for them.
And and it said we understand -- -- We understand that from from news reports that Friday that was the day of the kiss him may present -- another opportunity to -- to serve with genuine hospitality.
Superior service and great food it was a such a classy statement and it -- -- -- -- all these people showed up because they resented having somebody's ideology.
Shut down their throats in some respects.
I think the real problem was the mayors and his right disagree -- those democratic mayors who kind of threatened chick -- and so we like doing or municipality if we don't like what you believe in.
That was absolutely wrong and the next time -- -- I wouldn't want to be.
Put edged out because I'm pro gay.
And airport told my business should not be acceptable so had those mayors not done that having all of them in Chicago not suggested legislation you wouldn't have had chick -- appreciation day.
They kind of spurred on by try to have.
Get them out of their communities.
So I think -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
