Oh marks one week since governor Mitt Romney tapped congressman Paul Ryan to be is running mate and it's clear that the choice has begun to -- shape.

This presidential race with the GOP ticket enjoying a bit of a wave of momentum right now because take a look at best governor -- and congressman Ryan.

Raised ten point two million dollars in campaign cash since that announcement was made.

Nearly a 125000.

Donors now contributing to that campaign.

And this is a very important number 68%.

Of that total amount that has been raised since last Saturday has come in from brand new donors to the -- campaign if -- raising money.

That's what you want to see new donors coming in and that's 68.

68% I should -- on the other side of the ledger here it's been a very tough week for Joseph Biden.

As the incumbent vice president you maybe when he would rather forget.

Talk about reform on Wall Street the vice president taking major heat for those remarks to a largely African American audience that happened of course in Danville Virginia.

Here's a recap.

-- saying.

Wall Street and.

They're gonna put you all back in shaves.

Rule.

-- usually -- -- that now.

So how much has changed in the past week over these dynamics in the race for the White House joining us now.

A man who has been there and a man who enjoys this entire process former governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee.

The host of Huckabee good to see their governor welcome thank you -- -- -- it apparently Joseph Biden's is gonna take the weekend awfully you know nothing nothing scheduled for him this weekend I think that's an accident.

Now I think he's going to the time -- chair have probably little talk with Harry Reid's imaginary friend.

And perhaps they'll sit down and chat about how they need to be careful what they say because words to come back to haunt it -- had a tough week.

He -- know who Paul Ryan was thought he was governor.

Couldn't remember what sentry was -- -- thought it was the twentieth.

Could even remember what state he was sent to all the people in Virginia that there we're gonna help him -- North Carolina and I guess -- gonna go Boston down there to vote and help them out since they're not gonna when North Carolina.

It's been a tough week for Joseph Biden yesterday apparently was a little chit chat at the White House.

Maybe a little wood shedding going on and now Joseph doesn't have a public schedule so I think that tells us a lot.

So all of this happens you know -- to -- -- -- -- -- -- -- campaign because it it looks like -- -- the beginning that work with well there's no -- really from the Ryan nomination.

And yet you look at these fundraising numbers speak what's your house -- a -- numbers are coming in.

Well I think it's a terrific -- for the Romney campaign on a number of fronts number one the most important thing you have to do is to not have any major problems in the roll out of your VP.

Mitt Romney had no.

You know there were no glitches it it went flawlessly.

But more importantly the reaction from the people in the party was very strong very positive.

And even people who are sort of the journalistic supposedly.

Non partisan and objective observers even had to admit.

That this was a gutsy move on Romney's part and it sets up that Romney made not a political decision but -- policy decision he made a personnel decision.

That shows that he's taking the position seriously.

Not just saying who can help me get elected but who can help me govern and that was significant yeah.

Hey you know.

So that fact over the weekend attacked by the fact Joseph Biden's going to be at home about Paul Ryan and his mom Betty.

The aptly named Betty that -- is going down to talk about Medicare she's in Medicare recipient she lives in Florida.

And she's going to be with us on over the course of this weekend what -- expect data that do you think that will power that's about this whole Medicare conversation.

It may be a conversation that the White House wish they'd never opened up because Paul Ryan is quite articulate explaining that if you're over 55.

Nothing changes.

If you're under 55 and you don't want anything to change nothing changes.

The big change is if we leave obamacare in place and the Medicare premiums are going to be jacked up pretty high.

And that's going to be starting right away.

So I think Paul Ryan has done exactly the right thing he's not the least bit afraid to take this issue -- -- -- to me because you know -- you listen -- a variety of media and you you know read all the different things that are out there.

Eaton did there's obviously there's a camp that believes that this is the biggest disaster that -- Ronnie could have ever done that picking Paul Ryan is going to seal his fate.

And and that you know the Medicare issue is one that Democrats are so enthusiastic about slim in Paul -- on.

And yet you know as -- -- -- said you know look -- I'm from I'm really heavily democratic district and and he's been you convince people before.

What what he's going to be -- -- story on this.

-- -- the end story is Mitt Romney picked a very articulate spokesperson for his point of -- Paul Ryan you may not agree with everything in the Paul Ryan plan -- you know what's different he has a plan.

You know have a -- -- President Obama has signed since he's been president zero he's the first president in US history -- never signed a budget.

Paul Ryan has helped develop a budget every year sends it to the senate Harry Reid sits on -- thinking it's gonna -- like a negative doesn't.

And so when people really start asking who is developing a plan to get this country back on track.

Even if they don't agree with every aspect of the Paul line approach.

With the fact is they're gonna say he has an approach it better.

And Atlanta -- -- -- -- and a good starting point -- -- that the plan that he put out there but I guess the big question is can connect and they went Florida.

-- can Romney and Ryan convince seniors in Florida.

That that that -- the better option especially given the fact that you've got both sides saying that they're basically going to eliminate an equal amount of money from Medicare by two different avenues.

Well but let's keep in mind that we've got a record to see how that Paul -- do with his senior voters in Wisconsin.

They contributed over 400000 dollars to his campaign he won with 68% of the vote and really a democratic district.

So I think if we want to see if the -- is a precursor to the future.

Paul Ryan is gonna do fine because one thing is he's not afraid to answer the questions and he can answer.

This is a person who can dig into the depth of the policy discussions.

And he can explain it he can respond to -- he can answer.

That's one of the great pluses that he brings not tested and Medicare but to the bigger issue of Mitt Romney being elected.

-- and he's got Betty.

He's got update on where you go -- dominated the Benitez is out I'm offer not anybody up our rights Mike Huckabee always -- -- --
