Greg teaches someone of your life.

Some laid -- took away.

That's unbelievable American system that we -- that allowed you to thought.

Some invested in roads and bridges that you got a business.

But you don't build that.

Somebody else.

Well that was July 13.

Over a month ago the president there making comments that really angered a lot of business owners.

And beyond folks who don't -- -- businesses who just believe that the president was wrong on that point.

It became -- GOP talking point on how the president is out of touch on the economy and really American values in terms of entrepreneurship.

And now the Republican Party is looking to build on that outrage dedicating an entire night of the upcoming Republican National Convention to the -- We built it.

Is that a winning message joining me now Leslie Marshall a syndicated radio talk show host and Fox News contributor.

And Michael Graham who's a radio host would WTKK FN at a Boston Herald columnist Ellis are with you have this Michael because.

It's very interesting that the the RNC will make this -- theme of an entire night.

And about a week later.

Did the DNC we'll put up Elizabeth Warren.

Whose comments.

You know I don't the president -- from her or but he certainly echoed her -- she was the one who really gave a full throated defense of that you didn't built that you have the government to thank for.

You're successful business at least in large part.

And so both sides really sticking with their message put in perspective.

Was that as the -- Obama -- -- his comments living in Massachusetts I joined the more in the original Cherokee when Liz Warren delivered them.

This brilliant move for the Republican Party because.

The Republican the coalition is essentially three groups -- financial -- a business interest groups.

You have evangelical or the religious leg of the stool and then you have the Tea Party or small government individual responsibility leg.

Andy you didn't bill that has two parts that but for the financial guys -- our minds and hey.

You're no one's paying it overwhelmingly the taxes they get paid you effect did build those -- since forty some percent of Americans pay no federal income tax.

And every individual liberty and these individual responsibility Tea Party people.

It puts the burden right on individuals which is a message that truly resonates the -- Paul Ryan apple fives which is -- seeing Mitt Romney's a numbers rise a bit.

As he's solidified his Republican support.

-- what do you make -- it.

Well you know the first of all we can we talk about truth right you're talking about earlier.

It is true that the federal government builds our schools builds our highways and it is true that the federal government allocates and has in the past.

-- for decades allocated funds to do that with the president is speaking to.

Is this on the right sorry Michael -- all your buddies talking about socialism.

And you don't -- -- big government.

He's pointing out the good and the merit of the federal government that work all along with that small business this is something you know that you guys took and -- -- it is a great slogan -- great.

Night at the GOP convention but you're preaching to the choir it's not gonna get you boats and it's not gonna get you those undecided voters to -- -- a bit.

Is it my own and all of this the latest polls and to show alligators but latest polls show that governor -- has a 20% -- lead among.

Entrepreneurs and self employed.

Americans and -- -- 2% of all voters.

Believe the people who start their small businesses are primarily responsible for their success -- failure -- 7% -- small business owners do work harder than others.

Which is something the president also questioned in that speech.

What we know what the teams are the teams are people who get checks from the president.

The government -- it.

They have the people who pay the bills that's the other team that's a team that Romney is reaching out -- -- make a point.

It would really give credit to the government for the road that was built outside that -- -- of the school in his neighborhood.

Two things the guy who paid board overwhelmingly at the top one perspective that you pay be the other thirty -- the fact the top fives if they think the fact is that to -- -- -- There are 39 other kids like classical Bill Gates they ever start in the great business and they haven't done anything of the government that responsibility for that still nervous sitting -- -- -- -- watching reruns.

Of you know -- -- -- right now.

That nick DJ DJ you -- America let patty -- wasn't nearly enough saying there is nothing.

Which neo nothing at all Oprah on you but.

And Oprah's final show what one of the.

-- -- -- -- in all over years as a as a talk to her she she walked away with a few critical lessons and one of the ones that she shared with people wish her belief.

That what people want on this earth is to believe that they matter that what they have to say in what they have to contribute.

Matters and is relevant and counts.

And and part of the reason this may be affected by the GOP and cause such a firestorm after President Obama said it is to the extent people take it as the president saying.

You're you don't matter that much the collective matters more it's government that really is to thank not so much you if.

That's the message fair or unfair -- terms of what he actually said is it damaging to the president.

It can be.

Quite frankly with the economy the way it is.

If I -- Mitt Romney I would expect to be twelve to seventeen percentage points ahead of the president in such bad economic times when historically.

A country will blame the president but when you talk about Oprah and -- Oprah I love that actually donated.

On you don't know it's essential it's essential I mean on a business owner it's essentially you know was -- mommy that your kids know they matter that employees know they matter.

I don't feel the president was saying that the small business people don't matter all when I think he would be it the message I was clearly hearing is that the federal government also that -- you can't just.

You know chalk it as it's really felt by the left that the right is saying.

But with with regard to the message.

It's affected that you make people think it feel that way but then again.

Hope and change was very effective force your -- -- as well before we go let's I wanna give it -- wanna -- you -- power but just let's play the sound but because this is a sound -- think we're gonna hear.

More about -- next week with some.

If you've been successful you don't even get -- on your -- I know that I'm always struck by people who think.

Well it must -- -- that was just so Smart.

There must be because I want to -- nobody else let me tell you some of the hole.

That's that's the part talking about Mike on be -- work.

I've ever thought I think that I'm just so it's done he's like a lot of Smart people out there.

And yet they don't achieve success -- don't create jobs for thousands of other people.

It thinks he's amazing individuals who creates so -- gonna get so many families and economic opportunity with virtually no direct help the government instead tax collection.

And we should be celebrating -- not making them feel bad saying hey you all odds -- no we owe them thank you friends good to -- about.

Good to see -- but got up there are new signs that.
