Case in a long time professional tennis umpire accused of beating her husband to death with a coffee cup.

Her name is -- Goodman.

Police say when her husband turned up dead in his own bid back in April she said she thought it was the result of a heart attack in a bad fall.

But officer said the amount of blood in that apartment was just not consistent with a fall.

They also noticed a broken coffee mug at the C.

Cops arrested the suspect yesterday morning -- can -- -- in court with a uniform on.

Tennis officials confirmed she was indeed said to umpire at the US open tennis tournament here in new York at flushing meadows queens it starts -- next week.

Trace Gallagher believes he's live in -- west -- news of what other evidence of the investigators have for this alleged coffee cup murder case.

Well we just spoke to LAPD should -- they.

Say this case has been suspicious from the very start but they've been kind of conducting final interviews and waiting for the final quarter's report to come out.

You mention that broken coffee -- found by the body the quarter also says there were actually bits of pieces of ceramic.

Inside the scalp of the victim.

Along with some sharp force injuries not consistent with a fall but rather being beaten over the head with a copy mud and then being stabbed in the head.

With the broken part of the coffee -- but at first police say.

The fall down the stairs was at least plausible was.

You don't go and accuse somebody.

Right off the bat you you gather evidence and try to find out whether or not.

There was any motives or anything like this.

You try to find out whether or not there was the opportunity to do something like this.

LAPD says they would have arrested lowest -- a lot earlier but as a tennis judge she travels around the world for weeks at a time.

-- what else does that they say -- if anything about a possible motive.

They talked a little bit about motive but clearly there's a lot of stuff -- holding back but they believe this couple who had been married for.

The better part of fifty years had some sort of an argument.

And now -- trying to figure out exactly what they argued over because that could be key.

But that entails trying to connect more dots -- I think the more people that had interaction with both the Goodman's.

That day that we may be during their marriage.

Will be able to hopeless with this case.

-- time -- Goodman's attorney says that she is very eager to get back to Los Angeles and aggressively fight these accusations.

She could be sent back to LA as early as Thursday.

-- Trace Gallagher in LA for -- thanks.

The legal panels willing to weigh in on this thankfully criminal defense attorney Judy -- tomorrow is at the table today as is our prosecutor very good friend very good friend.

-- -- and -- table all right Julia.

Coffee cup murder.

OK first off how do you -- someone with a ceramic coffee cup I mean you hit dumb ones the cops broke in game mode burning granite the -- was eighty years old but she was seven day.

He's got a husband and a wife he did actually fall down the stairs even -- authorities are saying.

That was plausible if I heard defense attorney I'm gonna say he thought on the stairs maybe there was a coffee cup at the bottom of the stairs that.

-- smashed into his -- left the shards of ceramic America.

And he somehow managed to get up in the bed because she was out don't they show up she was refereeing a tennis -- summer.

And she found him in the back and I think she's got a good defense there's no eyewitnesses and she's got an alibi.

-- really an uptick in the great -- you had something to do it -- I mean stop for a second.

The great because and then by the way let this be a lesson to the viewers this is why you don't speak to law enforcement because to go to law enforcement -- I know what happened.

My husband.

Had a heart attack when he fell down the steps.

She found him in the bed which means after his heart attack and fallen down the steps where he extensively cut his -- He managed to get back up walk back up the steps and get into bed where he was found that is.

Ludicrous and by the way sir -- that will bring -- and it is a lot of really good hot even little would say this is.

Ludicrous.

And by the way ceramic coffee mugs and I was involved in a rather well known case where -- you break a mug and it creates a cot.

So she -- right now because you killed yourself that I can't wait to see her alibi notice because as soon as she lets law enforcement know.

This is where I was when this went down they -- right out and check.

-- Larry I I imagine I already have this guy was killed and back in April of 2012.

She has steadily for that yet she said that she was referring -- -- -- clearly what.

Additional then it's all part of our own -- celebrate as she says she's eager to get back now laid to defend herself a little thing about motive.

Food once in awhile to kind of helpful apparently they had a history of going that in fact she wants -- with the cops so the motive the opportunity is there at one.

You know how I feel I chatter about relationships no no no I'm sorry that's a long time and I.

Could only get that.
