Thanks very much -- -- at high school football games in Mississippi may be sidelined thanks to 18.

Through the freedom from religion foundation is threatening -- to 151.

Schools in that state.

If any type of prayers conducted over the intercom during games they say brain is -- legal.

But our next guest is fighting back encouraging his fellow Christians to keep -- that doctor Jim Burnett joins us now he's the pastor will appoint church he joins us.

Right pastor.

How did -- get to this.

Well I don't know about the course -- Supreme Court ruling came down look some time ago and this group now is.

Threatening officials -- school leaders.

Who actually allow prayer over the intercom.

How valuable is -- team to do that prayer do you believe to be community into these teams.

Well I think.

Prayer is very vital.

Actually is is we believe -- talking to god and as we look at our society and how it's diminishing and morally.

We need god now more than ever.

And so it's very troubling.

What a group such as this is threatening people who are calling -- god and yet I believe our most powerful weapon is as Christians.

Is prayer and that's private prayer.

But also that freedom of speech.

Even to publicly break can -- -- seemingly.

Logical question which is why does anyone in Wisconsin care what you're doing in Mississippi.

Well that's a good question now we sort of wonder about that as well but.

You know I think there's an agenda there and it seems to have started.

I think in.

DeSoto county which is the fastest growing county in Mississippi and then we're in Lamar County which is -- second fastest growing one so.

It seems that maybe their strategy there to deal with a larger counties to set a precedent some I'm not sure do you do you call on these communities these teams these schools to do it anyway.

No we we certainly encourage abiding by the law then that's -- Supreme Court ruling.

But at the same time.

We encourage Christians to found their voice and to stand up because.

I think the church for too long has been passive.

And it may be even tall that you know to confront her stand up on issues like this is not biblical.

And yet we are the standard bearers of Christ and we need to to speak out.

Yeah it's a fine line there because you don't speak up many people think that eventually all these things just become a thing of the past let me ask you this doctor Burnett.

Are you are you still allowed to pray on the sidelines as long as it's not over the -- Absolutely and I think that's the misnomer with a lot of this is a lot of people believe that.

That the wall is that you can't even mention god on -- school campus or you can't -- -- and that's simply not true and you students can pray there's number of Christian organizations -- campus and and they pray and so I think the issue is praying over a public intercom yeah I think he should do -- -- call these guys out.

Usually the co-founder of freedom from religion foundation said.

-- we want to reiterate the law which is very clear that you do not have prayer and devotion -- in schools including that athletic events.

The reason it can't do it anymore right doctors because of the threat of these it really expensive lawsuits it would put school districts under right.

That's correct you know -- that that fear tactic is is disturbing.

Reaching a point especially with this group -- -- -- thank god and religion are the enemy when actually.

God as our creator and he loves us he loves all people.

And we need to be bringing him into our personal lives and society instead of pushing him how to got you doctor Jim Burnett thank you.
