We -- getting new details on a horrifying chain of events in California.

Two good samaritans were electrocuted.

While they were trying to help the victim of a car crash Trace Gallagher has their story -- -- West Coast newsroom Trace.

Really just a lethal cocktail mega that nobody expected it happened in the San Fernando Valley what a driver who police say was clearly going too fast came around a corner and lost control he struck a fire hydrant the hydrant exploded he struck a power pole.

And a power line dropped into the water.

-- woman who lives nearby ran out of her house to help the driver she clearly did not realize the water had been electrified here's a witness list.

She walked -- in the water fell back on her back with your arms straight out.

And then I ran back to the house again I'm not making back.

He's proud of people.

In that crowd another woman who was driving with her husband who saw the accident also got out to try to help the woman.

And she was electrocuted as well there were at least eight other people at the scene but everybody was yelling stay away stay back stay back.

-- But he panicky because it couldn't help the woman on the ground because of a live wire and you -- obviously needed -- but nobody could do anything because of the -- -- water who has worked fine.

Just terrifying.

Yeah I just -- you can imagine even when police and firefighters arrived they had to wait for the power company to show up to turn the power off to the poll.

The two women who were electrocuted on scene there were eight others who were actually suffered some minor shocks trying to help everybody out they are said to be fine.

Talk about a helpless situation you're watching people you know they need help and there's no way to get to them without putting yourself.

In harm's way out big time actress thanked him.
