Christian music I've never I've never really gotten to that yet but this guy could do it for me his name is Chris August.

You the album is called the upside -- down and this is your second album.

Get one afterwards and I had this bad brain injury a brain bleeding brain swelling.

And you know through that -- it's just I've almost got a whole another perspective on it now.

Just being you know in the church for me I have my whole church come around me help me in -- upside -- down that is seen.

-- -- -- in the Christian music industry CNN it's so much more than entry by the community of PLO that that came in to help me out bring me food everything I mean I couldn't do anything from.

Tell -- a little bit about that whole experience and how that came today.

Yeah there's a guy named Ryan Cabrera had -- if you hit songs he's awesome he got a hold of my music long while back who and he played it for Joe Simpson and Joseph -- -- and next thing you know I was out there.

Now I can browse and lying to register from the next semester community college outside of Dallas Texas and I got a call for rank of -- things have really like the stuff in two weeks later -- -- Geffen Records and that must have been unbelievable -- was pretty crazy that is pretty crazy so you -- up going on tour.

Yeah -- and I I got to work with someone musical heroes I -- with Brian McKnight and and that's it wouldn't work -- babyface -- Robin taking these people who are just.

You know -- -- penicillin -- as he is -- earlier that -- low -- -- pop RB is as much comfort zone.

And so you know I got to sit with these people and and and I ended up to -- with Ashlee Simpson for a while opening for her and playing keys for her for awhile and and you know got to be around people like Stevie Wonder and stuff like this in the united sir I don't hear golf course in I -- It's pretty awesome pretty awesome.

So what's so what's it like for somebody who is a Christian singer of the Christian around I would imagine -- very nice young man.

You got on tour -- you know obviously let's let's be honest here we hear all the stories about the tour -- I mean I've you know certainly met some people who come on.

Some of the show's been -- -- we went nuts -- kind of thing what's it like three have been yeah varsity right -- -- -- have much -- that our viewers are much like that you know.

Well what we try to do you know it is bring a positive message you know have some house music that can encourage people -- for me iffy on the -- -- -- very -- live on.

You know I love Steve Martin he's on my idol season you know the comedian and he's hilarious scene I try to incorporate a lot of comedy lot of -- -- -- fun in my shows and and not too serious and -- have a good time and he can do that encourage some people and make some music people can relate to I think our you'll be all right.

There's a reason you're here today because I don't need to bring it to me but since you mentioned Steve Martin and he wrote a buck and he -- my -- with discovery.

You know it's just interest in how -- you for me I wasn't in the Christian music thing for a long time right and I only started doing it because you know -- -- back to Dallas Texas where else from them.

And got back involved in my church and and well it's kind of rededicate my life to that I wrote the song called starry night.

And and I think the coolest thing for me is just to see somebody people kind of dig in a song to relate to -- you know and and a song that I wasn't trying to even I was living in this is a radio song it ended up to be like number one on the.

You're clearly in view and cleaned up the dove awards 2011 -- you want among other titles new artist of the year.

And there's another one that you -- and I think it was like it's something that hadn't been done since like had a.

I female vocalist and new artists in the same year as if it's pretty it's crazy you know and just to even be in the same sense of some his other artists like Chris Tomlin and these people is his site.

Been a blessing to me but see it justice just hear the stories of people that you know.

I have a song called sometimes seven because I come from broken home brother Stanley Cup -- I wrote it about that and just kind go to the forgiveness side of it.

And I've had you know her story don't talk about people you marriages being healed in this stuff and as crazy -- -- Thinkpads for the song in my bedroom so that's the -- So the song we're gonna hear you saying is this a little while -- -- center of it coming a little bit about that yes it's Monday single and it's on the new record the upside of down in the song just speaks about how if for me -- in the Christian -- it's it's how got there through it all -- the good and the bad and is sometimes.

I know it's -- think like when we make mistakes it's like we think the -- like and you know.

Well you're on your own now yeah but that's the you know the -- that I believe there's always there you know and and even in the midst of us making mistakes he doesn't leave our side.
