Welcome back everybody -- tropical storm Isaak has convention organizers in Tampa getting contingency plans under way.

To ensure the safety of the thousands of attendees expected to converge on that city.

Umbrellas ponchos raincoats all geared for Republican red have been stockpiled -- -- -- is live in Florida right now -- state of emergency is now under way -- -- -- Florida's governor has just signed an executive order declaring a state of emergency.

While hurricane officials that issued a tropical storm watch for all of the Tampa Bay Area that said -- right now is not tracking to hit Tampa directly.

But tropical storm force winds extend a 185 miles out from the senator's -- -- we're keeping a very close -- that storm could that could impact this convention pretty severely.

If you look at the radar you can see the storm right now.

Roughly sixty mile an hour wind it somewhere between.

Haiti and Cuba expected to brush across Cuba later today and then could.

Gain hurricane strength as it churns towards the keys in it back.

Could make landfall twice in the state of Florida at least expected to slam into the keys late tonight into tomorrow and then brushed past camp on its way up through the gulf.

To the Florida Panhandle where it could.

Arrive at a category -- -- very strong one possibly a category two hurricane sometime.

Tuesday night into Wednesday in the meantime can Florida residents begin to stock up on water and supplies the governor and other officials -- encouraging people to.

Collect 72 hours were worth of non perishables.

Water medicine top off the gas tank just to be prepared.

At the convention -- telling us that everything's on schedule -- no plans to cancel -- shorten the event but that could change.

If this hurricane changes pads and as we heard earlier.

From the mayor of Miami that's something that happened -- some regularity listen.

Things have shifted over to the right into the east and -- May be we may have a more.

We may have a hurricane instead of justice a tropical storm so.

You know mother nature you can never predict that who accurately.

That is so true so -- the city of Miami could see hurricane force winds the city of Tampa could kill and even if they don't they could see.

Periods of torrential downpours strong winds heavy rains localized flooding all that -- On Monday potentially the day that this convention is scheduled to begin so officials watching the weather very closely.

If there's a need to evacuate residents and or delegates that decision would be made by RNC officials and -- the local government that could come sometime over the next point 448 hours.

Well we're doing everything about -- regulations have been issued Florida Florida Florida Keys at this point.

Well all the visitors are being told to get out of the keys residents at this point are not being told to evacuate anybody what plans to go to the keys is being told not to go there.

And others are being told there are shelters available but you better bring your own food and bedding -- we can't we can't apply that for every one.

And anyone else is being encouraged to get out of the keys now because -- -- gonna deteriorate rapidly later tonight.
