And we're back now on the Fox News sky box at the Tampa Bay times forum.

One -- Mitt Romney's biggest problems is the perception pushed by they Obama campaign he is out of touch.

And doesn't understand what many American -- -- are going -- Earlier this -- the Romney's invited us to their New Hampshire vacation spot.

Opening their home the cameras for the first time in this -- -- It's the Romney's summer home is a beautiful place -- right on the shore of -- when -- sloppy.

But the first thing we noticed was a sign next to the front door of the boys gave their parents some years back.

Bed and breakfast and then Mitt Romney -- it's not quite had enough as it inside they were making mrs.

Romney's trademark buttermilk pancakes.

She prepares to batter he -- I don't have a little early still early and is taking a look at system disputed anyway street and plus this is very -- that was in my -- Everything in the house as a family affair.

They designed the island in the kitchen with a hole and so the grandchildren can join in.

There's sometimes as many as six of them in there one time.

And they can work as well and make sandwiches or do whatever they -- and I stand here and -- kind of the orchestra leader.

You're -- you're kind of mature program said.

I know that this had to make two different types -- better not what are your grandkids what.

How you're talking comic -- picked up on the path and -- -- -- and is -- For -- for a -- and while we were I mean that's.

You know -- like like I you know I commanded.

The governors served -- the pancakes and not started the first controversy over the better after I use it.

Yeah yeah yeah.

Sure it is -- We will Nicholson at this we'll tell you its New Hampshire -- are well.

Is there any time yes -- is not a monster lives but for my business would stay right.

But maple syrups from any state wasn't what the governor wants -- I didn't -- about my.

But I can't I this is over.

That is secularist.

I decided to get off that sticky subject -- quickly eating my pancakes.

-- isn't.

Dozens you know you sad how.

That's their oldest son tan who was there with his wife -- and they are kids so -- -- family.

-- A little bit.

Craziness dad always goes in line first because -- wanna wait for all the grandchildren -- -- forever -- parents cutting their unique and that certainly everything -- and he usually finished by the time the rest of the sit down.

But when it acts on the pitches that you think he -- -- -- sort of additions.

Talk around the table is usually about family and sports not politics.

And they save the really serious stuff for -- time after the kids go to bat.

In the family room and also -- we we we begin life.

I have my ticket won a couple of things let's talk about your life of the decisions you have and then everybody -- -- -- attacked again you like having.

Your parents your Brothers and sisters and my whole way and underlie -- -- of what you issues -- bring forward but yeah.

The Romney's hold a family reunion one week each summer the parents their five sons and their wives plus eighteen grandchildren.

Which brings us to that sure -- The kids have to make their beds brush their teeth and read scripture that the suns and their wives get to clean up.

There are three areas that get messy so it's clean it's -- areas -- sweeping the floors and finally kitchen duty cleaning up so this changes every day by one.

Motion and everybody gets a -- now I notice.

What's conspicuously missing here is needed and hand.

Yeah.

We're involved in all of you.

It was time to sit down with the governor and mrs.

Romney.

For someone who's been running for president the better part of eight years.

The polls show a lot of people still don't have a good fix on him.

This is -- your son tag says that you are the great -- stabilizer.

And you -- a sad that sometimes you.

Feel you have to talk -- off the rails.

When do you bring out the stabilizer -- what is it again.

Well you know -- can get intense sometimes.

And maybe people don't recognize that that there's also times when he's.

Just.

By stabilizing -- that works both ways we can talk talk -- out.

You know it's not it's not anything specific that I do it's just being being around each other -- just being around each other.

Gives us a sense -- security and sent serenity and peace -- at all those good things that just happened just by being together.

I.

I think she has an intuitive sense.

In looking at people and considering individuals as to which people are telling us that the straight story which people are a bit -- She -- a sense of how other people might feel about something.

Let's talk about your role in the campaign and what your role would be in the white -- to you give.

Your husband advice.

Not a policy do you give advice on strategy do you give advice on staff for a minute he gets advice -- -- kind of an enemy.

I just you -- she didn't divisive politics because.

It might weigh in on that too sometimes and is -- good she is really good at seeing things in ways others don't see them.

And and being able to provide that openly to me and I value very highly she is she has been mired in a best friend obviously in my counselor throughout my life.

You do disagree on some issues.

Are you not gonna ask you get antsy which ones.

And night out it didn't give -- one can sniff out all.

And not because I'm because I think we have to have the united front and that area.

Let's talk about.

Planned Parenthood.

You've got serious health problems.

-- in the ninety's he gave some money to Planned Parenthood.

What do you think of your husband's policies to cut off federal funding for planned there.

Well I think it's important that distinction is made that it's federal funding it doesn't mean that there's not going to be a Planned Parenthood.

The -- I can -- Washington.

And they are going to balance its budget and they're going to have to keep me there's -- -- -- -- there's going to be cuts made a lot of programs people aren't like.

And it's just what that reality of the situation is right now we are gonna have to face some tough.

Some tough places.

I think Planned Parenthood given the fact that it's also a major provider of abortions shouldn't -- receiving federal funding.

I think it should be receiving funding from people who want to contribute and support the effort.

Breast exams and so forth but I don't think it's a it's that they responsibility of the federal government to be providing money to -- to a Planned Parenthood.

Mrs.

-- it is a perception among many voters that this -- Is out of touch how do you help people feel.

His compassion that for lack of a better phrase.

He feels their pain.

I wish everyone could see him how I see him because.

As a mother -- senior compassionate he's been need to sit as a wife and my reason he's not children how.

He always valued my work has been more important -- how about the question of feeling the pain in the compassion.

For the larger American family for in all the folks out there who were struggling.

Well I think that's -- -- running whenever I an excuse and I talked to especially fundraising groups outlook have not seen him and it's looking like -- pretty well here.

-- might guess what thanks for not running for you were running for those folks are really worried about how they're gonna have a paycheck.

Or they're really worried about how they can he had a -- afford to educate their children.

That's what we're running for we're not running to make your lives easier.

Governor does it.

While they knew that according to the polls people don't.

Like you more or is that not important.

You know all I can do is be who I am.

That -- -- I am what I am that's all what I am and I'm doing my very best to try and get this country back on track to help the people who.

Need to be sure they can find a good job.

That they can have a secure retirement that their child will get the kind of education their child needs.

These are things people worry about and I know how to help make those things happen that's why I'm in the race.

Governor let me ask you a lightning round -- In or out of touch question pops up.

Do you go to the grocery store yes you act like I'm an idiot as -- I will tell you something when I was really really sick.

And this is where I think people need to understand -- comes from.

I was unable to do anything -- any in in a normal life I couldn't go to restaurant couldn't continue.

This was during the time it was running the Olympics and he was you know putting in long hours he would come home I went home he would stop -- the grocery -- he was making dinner.

He was doing all of those things and saying and it's okay you just you're fine don't worry about these things that's not why I love you because you go to the store and you make dinner.

I love you because I -- you know not what you do this I notice that there's no staff here know who cooks know maids.

-- why not.

You know I'm an iron pretty independent.

And that's how we like it like to do our own things and I think mid iron is unsure at this morning.

I noticed she was doing laundry last night.

I also hear from my sources that you have an unhealthy attraction.

To Costco.

We both -- ask.

I want to Alaska because it is great are you kidding me revenge and a little guy like a lot of -- -- -- -- the its record proves I know how to -- -- go you go in the door don't don't I don't want anyone to learn this I think going to get you take a sharp right and you go wait under the back any of historic.

And just go to -- the outside India at the gas drilling boom boom comes again who has three packs of shirts that they from Costco.

And they're yeah they're very hash of the trip insurance he's he's wearing an -- time now I'm like hey that's that looks she looks pretty at a -- I got a -- What are the Romney Olympics.

In the summertime the boys and -- daughters in law.

And I get together there's a swimming component and -- -- running component and a biking component.

Now that's deteriorated -- period.

That would that was for what we didn't do that this year this year we will win it started getting beaten he's got -- I'm not it's when that he will I was gonna ask about that because I heard an ugly rumor that was news articles in the physical competition to.

Have you started adding old guy offense like mail him and that's right exactly right -- funds to pay for me to get back from the capital.

Still comes in -- OK I know that's happened true.

Path.

The Romney's took us outside.

Mrs.

Romney helped two year old Johnny -- issues.

The governor showed off a new trick -- dog Reggie just more -- Is this for the -- Olympics take place right here.

This this right here is the site of the lumbered to -- heck of etc.

but for something -- -- hammering.

And over their under the little -- theirs to pull up contest.

We have with -- football's the trees yet -- -- -- -- -- of the trees to get full points.

It looks like -- summer camp with a beach volleyball court and a trampoline and -- filled with votes.

But then you see the patrol boat anchored just offshore us and it reminds you this man may soon be president I sure hope so.

I'm planning.

It's a critical time for the country and the things I've learned over my life and the people that I've learned to work with I think -- The kind of people we need to get the country and -- Earlier I asked the governor about that from a more personal perspective as you sit here.

On the verge of becoming the Republican nominee for president.

What does this woman mean to you and what role she played in your journey.

Where you are now and where you may be soon.

At the beginning I just laughter.

Now she's much more than just the person Iowa she's also the person that I really live for candidates -- counselor my friend.

My inspiration.

But -- the person I love and if I if there's anything.

-- -- -- any time available.

And -- -- -- would you like to do the thing I'd like to do was to be with and do something together -- that guy is that's pretty dead at the.
