Last month the Obama administration sent out a memo that could change the work requirement hike to welfare check of letters from Middle East -- -- -- morning.

The move could wipe out progress made by the bipartisan welfare reform law passed.

In 1996 and joining us talk about that live one of the governors who is fighting back Jan Brewer of Arizona.

Ever think you so much for coming in today Q I'm honored to be here right let's talk about this letter you know the White House is saying this action doesn't necessarily tell states they have to change the requirement it's trying to give them some leeway.

To find their own best solution what's wrong with -- Well I think that -- awfully round at the bottom line is that we all work so hard that like you said in a bipartisan manner.

To encourage people to look for work that they were receiving some welfare.

Bonuses if you will and by reducing -- and taking that back where it.

That means that if you're not going to be looking for work and in the and the history shows that -- -- out -- looking for work a lot.

That belonged to answer is -- that you don't find a job and you -- be on entitlements that you better yourself you feel better about yourself is -- -- it -- Didn't -- with any common sense understand.

Not the right thing to do.

You've offered a letter to the administration specifically to health and human services outlining your objections do you expect to get a response what would you like to hear from the administration I always expect to hear and get in the response from the administration.

However I don't always -- they respond.

I was that they would come forward David that what they've done with the mistake and that we need to continue in the path of a -- going does -- have been successful program.

-- -- something so successful.

And hasn't record and do away -- that makes no sense.

He wants I believe this administration basically they just simply want to make everybody dependent on government has not healthy it's unhealthy.

It's not a secret that you have had some tension with the current administration and this is just one of the latest issues I know as well.

That there are a number of steps that they've taken and recently the directive dealing with deportations -- action -- For young people who would stay here in the US.

Even if they were caught up here as an illegal immigrant but given some leeway to make things right to get an education to join the military or whatever it might be.

They respond that directive you've said that they won't be able to get driver's licenses or other public benefits in Arizona.

Is this your sense that the administration is planning to continue to rule things out that maybe they can't get done through congress.

-- through this listening executive order but directives and orders like that.

On that essentially some argue take on the legislative.

Brawl right after the executive Fiat and he he did that have the power he should not have the power to move forward and make those kinds of policies.

And make laws without congress is just unbelievable that they would even attempt to do that in he has done that and ended up at inherently wrong.

In Arizona.

But the voters overwhelmingly on two different occasions voted.

That no public benefits would be given to be illegal aliens in our state and so I -- my directive.

Saying that they needed to uphold the law and and and enforce it.

And so this is it would gone back and forth that with this administration.

On the -- -- political pandering.

Obviously is what it's all about and that he -- cities getting away with I think the American public.

That's got it it -- if they're not an average -- soon to be outraged and we will see a victorious November election.

Didn't time.

And this thing now and next January if there isn't a change in administration is there any common ground you have with the Obama administration is there -- things that you and in the president could agree on when it comes to issues of border security.

And other problems in Arizona.

I think that there are I think that we do we need to sit down we need to have come up with a solution that works for America in regards to illegal immigration.

And we need our borders secured but.

New Mexico is Arizona's largest trading partner -- really important we have good relations.

Up with that country with FC south of Arizona and we wanna continue those stipulations just this -- good for our economy and their economy.

And you know we have other issues that need to really -- -- -- -- plan was executed makes it.

Very difficult but you know I -- they'll Hispanic community -- will.

Think about the different platforms of Republican Democrat party.

Federal.

Government that the president that.

Three good years to do things that they have promised and they weren't able to deliver we need a change in administration and we can deal with the very.

Sincere.

You mean he's he's replacing.

I Arizona governor -- -- -- eyes that see you have a great week here in Tampa --
