Well my next guest is going to be introducing Mitt Romney on Thursday night.
Now that's more than just a huge honor it is a great responsibility.
He's the Republican side of the from the great state of Florida Marco Rubio joins us on the phone for Miami.
Falsetto there you -- been dodging some weather down there hand thanks for joining me tonight about phone.
Well we were supposed to be there tonight but there we figured we -- back here at South Florida and picture of the storm ever -- right down here we look forward to be there tomorrow.
-- for being -- speaker get on Wednesday.
Well that's what I'm told so we'll see how that turns out but.
You know you've got one of the most important roles of this convention not to make you nervous or any -- effect but let's face it.
You know you your -- and everything -- for the nominee of the party how long he had been working on the speech and and are you nervous about it.
Well I you know I actually have honored by it and thought going I wish is that so many of the people in my life sacrifice so hard -- that I would have opportunities they did put.
We're here to be able to be -- -- You know it it's I think there's -- -- -- come across the first courses that Mitt Romney -- -- successful businessman that incredibly powerful person.
And I think that's gonna come across throughout this convention but especially on Thursday evening -- -- -- to remind people about that as a man.
The way he conducted -- as a father has been that.
And member of the community the role model for all Americans irrespective of how you may feel about a -- It's an -- I think it's important people remember that this election not just Detroit between.
A Democrat or Republican it really is very different views about what the future should look like and what government's role should be in America.
That's what we're deciding I think we who believe in free enterprise and limited government.
Have a special obligation to remind people how well that -- process and how about the key to our.
And during that huge traffic Mitt Romney present there represent that I hope and -- -- I have on -- I can.
Set that up -- So there you have campaigned across America with governor Romney you've seen -- In the campaign mode.
In a -- that very few other elected officials have I want you to describe for me.
What do you see happening out there as he campaigns and touches people talks to them whether it's one on one are from from the stage at a rally what are you seeing and hearing from people who are.
Energized at the rallies.
Well there's a lot of the things you running so obviously there are people that voted for Barack Obama for years ago who have been deeply disappointed -- how things have turned out who.
What straight out -- if they knew things were going to be this way -- -- would have voted.
If we come across that we ought to come across people that are worried about the future is real anxiety about what the future looks like it.
Whether it's ever going to be as good as it once was or even better.
It's sort of looking for someone to inspire them but to remind them what it is that made it's great how we can remain that way back up tomorrow and -- be better than anything we've ever had before.
But make -- -- a great job of communicating that and whether things that really comes across from the rock.
Is that he understands the American free enterprise.
He understands that the way prosperity created America isn't someone decides to -- their money and use it to start a business or grow an existing one.
And it really comes across on the campaign so I think Americans instinctively know that to be true well.
I also want to just note that Florida and they -- very well may decide this presidential election.
It's going to be close here.
The difference might be in the seniors are the Hispanic votes of Florida.
Project forest -- how you see those going.
-- our seniors are concerned obviously they're they're one piece of folks that built America what it is today they've worked hard they've sacrificed.
All their lives that that do.
The lead up to the country that my generation inherited.
And now they're worried about that and certainly one of these somewhat serious about it you know obviously they're concerned about Medicare and Florida we -- talked about the fact that prevailing people here on Medicare my mamma wanna.
But I think they also understand that Medicare is going bankrupt and if we don't do anything about it -- generation won't have a Medicare.
And so I think they're looking for solutions for big problem like that part Hispanic voters.
It I would say all Americans desperately want to leave their kids better off themselves but I think that's -- -- and Hispanic community people who really the purpose and mission of their life.
-- to give their children the chance to do all the things they themselves never had a chance to do it.
I think for the or for Mitt Romney the opportunity to explain how the free enterprise system -- remind people -- the free enterprise system is the only economic system and history of the world.
Where that's been possible.
Plus -- I want to tell you this I think that next to Mitt Romney's acceptance acceptance speech which I believe will be the speech of his life.
I'm looking forward to hearing yours because I know it's going to be dynamic.
And I am not excited to to hear -- on Thursday night's thank you so much for joining us -- to back through all that you had to do to do it -- I don't -- -- program reported being your first.
Well vice president Joseph by.
