Wisconsin lieutenant governor we're back with -- fish was also one of the speakers last night and she joins me now live here on the sudden -- good morning to you great to see you in person -- usually it's via satellite here yes it's much more -- this way right I'd -- to say welcome to -- but found this storm out there -- and they in this field -- well that's okay we all made it here and it looks like the events are gonna continue or at least start.
Tomorrow -- you kicked off an event last night you were part of this Tea Party rally what was that all about.
Well I think it was about unity it was about bringing together both the grassroots activists on the Tea Party sat and -- GOP the traditional Republican Party and he's showing solidarity and making sure that every one across the country understands that.
The Tea Party and the Republican Party are so eager to make Barack Obama a one term president make sure that we have a Romney -- Making sure that our kids are able to enjoy prosperity.
Some people want to make -- in the fact that the Tea Party is.
Too extreme for the base of the Republican Party the moderate part of the Republican Party -- some people say how do you respond to those accusations not part of the Tea Party yelling call myself an extremist.
The folks you see who -- at the rally last night folks to -- showing up to tea parties across America.
Aren't necessarily folks who identify with any political party.
I mean these are Democrats Republicans libertarians independents these people are concerned about the feature of America.
If parents their grandparents they want to make sure that their kids and grand kids have a chance to grab onto the American dream like we saw.
It was interesting we just showed the debt clock that's going to be inside of the convention center.
And it's gonna -- our nation the kind of trillion dollar debts that we're looking at speaking of our children and grandchildren.
Is that the main message still of the Tea Party.
I would say it it you know it.
-- Is an -- taxed enough already and I would say that fiscal issues and the economy -- the main issue is that the Tea Party movement.
Is concerned about presently at 23 million Americans who are out of work we've got gasoline.
Where we started out with Barack Obama as president with.
Gasoline about a buck 85 -- gallon today it's about four dollars -- I don't know how you can look at those things and say.
This presidency has not been costly it's expensive.
For Barack Obama to be president the united state -- -- a -- that particular issue fascinating that there is not more made of the high gas prices because it is double.
From what it was four years ago.
And and I've come to the belief that maybe this is the new normal do you think Americans think that this is I K I don't think Americans think this is OK listen I got a -- here and weekend it's really irritating.
When I go and fill up it's about time.
That we have the money in our pockets to be able to fill up -- gas tanks without worrying and that means Americans need jobs in order to put those worries aside.
This precedent has not been able to resurrect this economy so that America's -- -- such talk about your state of Wisconsin -- so much has gone on -- in the last year with the recall vote of yourself.
And governor Scott Walker you came out winning again.
And now we have congressman Paul Ryan -- on the ticket with Mitt Romney what's gonna happen in Wisconsin in November.
I don't know I think we should start charging for our water don't you think.
But you know we had so many tremendous successes in Wisconsin successes that are owned by all Wisconsin heights which is a wonderful thing in November.
I think -- -- is gonna turn rat.
You know Paul Ryan is -- hometown hero.
In our state and people love hand he's this mid western -- and member of the people's house an.
I think it's.
Probably universally agreed upon rate now among the media that even Mitt Romney is that are more excited.
On the stump with Paul Ryan by his -- he brings an energy.
And he also brings the big ideas -- -- being the budget architect at the big -- the issues which many people hope will be the forefront of this convention as we move forward.
